Yeah, but was this guy even IN the movie? The sets are pretty popular from what I understand.

Watch out, this guy is serious trouble. He's got a tiny little Fat Man hanging from his belt!

I don't care if you liked it as a movie, TLNM had some great sets and parts--including a lot of good background Star Wars clothing, such as this fellow right here.

Nice minifigure. Even Nicer set. Still annoyed the week I decided to buy 70657, the one that had been listed for months at just slightly over retail, got a 50% price increase because Lego announced 71741.
I ended up buying it at 1.5x retail a couple of months later, and looking at prices of 70657 I'm glad I bought it when I did.
I got both 70620 and 71741 for about 50% of retail though, so I guess I still did pretty well over the whole theme.

Yep. I used a few of the TLNM citizen figs to round out Captain Soto's crew on the Legacy-version 71705 of the Destiny's Bounty from before it was a shipwreck-turned-flying ship.

Apparently there is another Ninjago City modular section coming this summer: Ninjago City Markets. I read about it on Eurobricks.

They had a chance to pick a great name for this Obi-Wan-looking character, but they Runde it.

Agreed. I Bricklinked his parts to put in my Tatooine build. For an average of $3.80, I may need to get more…

Yeah I've seen that. I'll probably be getting it. I've cooled off on the regular modulars, but the Ninjago ones are great!

I got the Gardens, missed the first Ninjago City and the Docks. Still stings.

Lore time!

The movie's not canon...

Lore time!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I managed to get two of the Ninjago modulars used with boxes and instructions at less than retail (the first one I got at less than market value, still a win) but lack the time and space to rebuild them...this guy is owned by me, but I remained unaware of it until today!

funny you should mention Star Wars: i actually used this body (with a hand swap) and a Spider-Man 2 Aunt May head i got in a bulk lot to make Jedi Master Ahn-Mai P'rker. (original character, please steal!)"

Those movie sets are incredibly well-done. They really put the parts and design into their own movie sets as well as mini-fig printing budgets.

Ninjago is already the theme with the best-designed sets and figs. The movie sets are another level above that. If only Star wars was treated the same way!

For example, 75323 is a stupidly designed part-shedder that is a throwback to early-2000s in terms of quality. Most of the ship is taken over by a needless, pointless function whose ugly technic parts are left exposed. But, the worst part is how fragile it is. There's nowhere to touch it that it won't fall apart, including the tail function. Pieces break off every time. Even the wings easily fall apart and are difficult to put back.

It's fairly easy to MOD it to cover the technic. So, it's a good looking ship for display, especially how large it is. Just don't touch it!

With SW, they just throw out a lot of horrible product and expect us to pay super premium prices. Shame.

By in United Kingdom,

If I hadn’t read the description stating this was a Ninjago Movie set, totally would have been wondering which Tatooine Cantina set he popped up in

Gravatar
By in Canada,

No, no, no: TLNM is part of the 'Lego Movieverse', as with TLM, TLBM, and TLM2; so it's 'canon' in that it took place in the kid's backyard (Lord and Millar even said that, at least about the backyard)...but, no it's not part of 'the series'; even though it did influence it (Lloyd got green eyes in the series, after the movie)

As for 'the figure', good look; either a Star Wars fan ("This is not the figure you're looking for...") or a monk (with a really good hairstyle), and I'm sure other places.

@jkb: Well, some them have been villains, whether of the super variety or not, after all. Of course, you can easily dislike a character while still thinking they got a good minifig treatment.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

Actually he seems like a character from SW, maybe Obi Wan Kenobi ?

Ok, let's say if your story needs villainy, you'd either want great likable villains or villains that make a great story. And then, it depends who's side of the story youre telling =). Personally, I think I like every minifig, even the villains!

By in United States,

The LEGO Ninjago Movie is the only Lego movie I saw that made me physically cringe in the movie theater. The 'I've got a name' sequence especially just made me want to leave the theater. Heck, I was embarrassed to be in the theater already at that point (I didn't have that issue with TLM 1 or 2, or TLBM), but that was overkill.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good Jim Croce song, but now I can't listen to it now without seeing Lloyd loosing his arm. The song has been tainted by the horrible film and La-loyd's dismemberment.
