I have this set but never got around to building it. One of the earliest entries in my backlog...

I love that visor with the scope. I especially love that the scopes can be extended by attaching binoculars to them.

Robot: Space ID?
Batman: I have a drive-on.
Robot: Who are you here to see?
Batman: I'm here to see your butt.
Robot: Is that a last name "Butt", first name "Your", or is it...? [Batman throws Batarang] Oh, my gosh!
[Batman throws more Batarangs at the gate button but fails to hit it]
Batman: Pow! Wham! Kezap! [he then repeatedly throws the Batarangs until it finally hits the button making it go green] First try!

TLM 1 is the best of the three* Lego movies. Yeah, Batman: I said it!

*The LEGO Ninjago Movie doesn't exist. Don't @ me on that.

Cartoon Network airings of the film were cut down for time. One of the worst cuts was keeping the "first try" line while cutting all of the failed Batarang throws

By in Canada,

Wait. Why do robots have changeable clothes? There’s a zipper and everything!

By in Sweden,

I really like the Robot Swats. I got really close to building a squad of them. I'd get the set this came in, but you know how second hand goes...

What?!?!?!? Seriously? But that was one of the best parts of the movie! I've never had to watch a TV cut. I got to watch it early for free, during a sneak preview. I watched it at least once during opening weekend to get a free minifig. I watched it at Brickworld Chicago, because who would pass up a chance to watch it in a room full of hundreds of AFOLs? I watched it in the middle of Detroit because my LUG got hired to set up a display in Campus Martius when they showed it during their summer movie series. I played the game, which felt very much like watching the movie. And by the time they finally released it on home video...I left it sealed until TLMN2 came out, because I'd watched it so many times already I just didn't feel a need to dive right back in.

Almost read the minifigure code as tim070 and was left wondering if there was a robot named Tim in the movie that I missed?

"There are some who call them... 'Tim'?"

Got quite a few of these guys; figured the dropship needed a few more to actually drop

You know, the set this guy came in is one of the ways we could get a pre-2010 character as RMotD, as it had Johnny Thunder.

@Murdoch17: I know you said not to @ you, but you've reminded me that the one you refuse to acknowledge was the only one I had in storage after my stroke when most of my movie collection was stolen out of storage. (They also took my TV, and some of my video games, but at least they left my Lego alone!) I've thought about replacing it, but haven't felt particularly compelled to, as I'll acknowledge its existence, but I do agree that it's the weakest of the Lego Movies, although it did lead to some awesome sets.

@PurpleDave: I didn't watch it at any events, but I did watch it six times in the theaters. (I have a friend who watched Avengers in the theater more times than that; I don't remember how many exactly, but I think it was in the double digits.) And I rewatched it on DVD/Blu-ray a few times before TLM2 came out, at least once while building 70816. (Seemed appropriate.) One of the times I saw it in the theater was with my brother and two nephews. (I have four now, but the third was still in the womb at the time, and the fourth was still a few years from being conceived.) The theater was a fair distance away, and we didn't tell them where we were taking them, just that we had a surprise for them. Once we reached the town where we were going to see the movie, we stopped at Sonic for some slushies. The boys wanted to know if that was the surprise. we were like, "No, we wouldn't drive half an hour just for slushies." Out of curiosity, did you see any 3D showings?

I don't get it? This set is available on BL in the EU for less than original RRP. Get it. It's a great set.

Lego generally puts a lot of extra effort in design for sets from their own movies

@TheOtherMike:
Oh, I can't remember what movies I've seen in 3D vs which ones I haven't, other than I did see 3D Ep1 when it came out.

However, a member of my LUG got burglarized (home, not a storage unit), and they took all the medieval weapons he had hanging on the walls and anything they recognized as a computer, but they also left the LEGO collection alone.

Whenever I do home improvements (wiring, mostly) and I eventually get it right, I always yell "First try!" In my best Will Arnett voice.

Sadly, no one around me appreciates the reference.

I should really get the set this is from. It has Johnny Thunder.

Never got the dropship...too bad too: it had grrreeeaaat figures...speaking thereof; I debate whether I like the TLM robot head more than those from Nexo Knights. Both look similar, but NK's bots look less 'Terminator' like...come to think of it; adding Videyo's bots, it's like 'technological evolution' with each series...becoming...more...human?
