Random minifig of the day: st004

I own a copy of the first season (it was being clearanced for $10, and rang up for only $7.50), but they never released the subsequent seasons on home video, and I still haven't broken the seal on the one season I own. As a result, I only know bits of disconnected info. One thing I do remember is seeing t-shirt designs pop up every so often, including one of Charlie Brown leaning against Snoopy's doghouse, except it's Dustin and Dart. I swear I also saw them done in the same Peanuts style, but as Elliot and E.T. riding the bicycle across the moon. I'd already figured out how to make the basket with E.T. in it, using the Dimensions head, so I picked up Dustin, the Demogorgon head, and a black bicycle, and did the same with them. And then I hang them upside-down below Elliot's bike. It generally gets a lot of comments, but one of the more common ones is, "Look, there's Spiderman!" It took me a couple years to figure out why. Elliot has blue pants, and a red jacket with hood, and he kind of appears to be swinging past the corner of a building. With two bicycles, a child, and two aliens in baskets.

Ooh I have this one. Managed to pick up the set Second hand for half price. Quite a well done set. Nice collection of mid sized legs too.

Nice torso printing, but dark green pants?

Seeing this figure just makes me realize how much I want more Stranger Things sets, especially since I don't have 75810. Also, this figure barely looks anything like Mike, the face print really lets the rest of the figure down.

One of those actually really versatile licensed minifigs where any of the components could easily be reused elsewhere

No doubt. My recollection of ST is that they're wearing 80s short shorts most of the time. ;)

Then again, didn't the first 2 seasons take place around Halloween?

I bought this head separately. Makes for a nice Slytherin quidditch player.

I was looking at the figs from this set, and almost all are around $10, apart from Dustin and the Demogorgon, which are $45 and $70 respectively. It's interesting to see that huge difference, is Dustin really that much more popular? I understand the Demogorgon since it was only really in the first season and in a few episodes in season 4.

That discrepancy is a bit shocking but at the same time Dustin is one of the most entertaining characters in the series in my opinion and also in a lot of other people’s.

Wow. I’m going to have to make sure they stay away from the edges of the layout. I only got Dustin because he had a pet Demogorgon, and I managed to find what, at the time, was the only seller on Bricklink who parted out the Demogorgon minifig rather than selling it whole. All I needed was the inner head and the mouth-cowl. And I probably didn’t really need _that_ inner head.
