By in Netherlands,

That's a long-term vision for sure, 16 days to submit, and around 534 days from now for the Production/Shipping phase (November 2024).

But it's nice to see this program continue.

And it does make sense that it takes quite some time between August 2023 and June 2024 to finalize for production starting November 2024, considering there will now be up to 20.000 of each set , so a potential of 100.000 funded sets total.

Good luck to all submissions.

By in Canada,

I am glad the program is being continued. It certainly brings out LEGO creativity and some beautiful creations. Even if they don't get funded, I enjoy looking at them and seeing what people come up with.

Yeez, November 2024... Still, it's great this is continuing, and good luck to those submitting.

...and good luck to those taking out loans to purchase the final designs! ;-)

By in Germany,

I still haven't gotten around to building the Venetian Houses, but just looking at the box makes me happy already. It's a beautiful set, and more of such sets imho can only be positive.
Good luck to all who enter.

There was loads of creative MOCing going on before the BDP started. This is just monetizing it.

It seems like BDP is what Ideas should have been. Will it follow the same trajectory? I don't know. But with just a few to vote on instead of dozens each round, and both big and small sets (Kakapo, anyone), this is good.

Will there be another chance to purchase these?

Was curious.. it seemed unclear to me.. the original corwdfunding designers series, those that actually voted with the crowdfunding stage are the only ones that were able to receive the sets. So once voting and winners were done, it was manuafactured and shipped (like a year or so later).
Unfortunately I missed the voting and crowdfunding stage of this and was bummed.

It looks like you can submit the same design a maximum of 2 times so good luck if it's a resubmit. :o)

Series 1 crowdfunding - Feb, 2024
Series 2 crowdfunding - June 2024

Crowdfunding = your one-time opportunity to commit to buy the sets.

The bad news is that the designs are expensive, and don't ship out for a long, indeterminate time. Some, I never received. They cannot replace any problems with shipping as only a specific number are made. The remaining others finally arrived just a month ago.

The good news is that you aren't actually charged until the sets ship. For the last round, this meant that the sets had doubled in value prior to me ever receiving them or being charged for them.

I doubt that this level of appreciation will continue with future rounds raised to 20k production. But, Lego is nothing but endless surprises.

Hope the designer of The Glass Studio resubmits their wonderful design again....

By in United Kingdom,

I just wish people could vote with their money for all 370 entries (or at least half) and see which top 5 reach 20k first and become produced?

By in United Kingdom,

If you were not chosen the 1st time, what will change the judges mind the 2nd time? Also it would be useful to have some feedback saying received 52 positive, 5 negative votes placing my submission in the 30th-40th decile, just so that I know the relative interest?
