A delightful and quirky set that's perfect for gifting
- Colourful and creative
- None
The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author.
From the outside it looks like an almost-Human scale piece of layer cake, smothered with a chocolate fondant icing and decorated with sweets and candles.
However, there's a surprise inside: one side is hinged and opens to reveal a room, suitably decorated for the occasion.
The stickers on the wall are placed upon a 4x8 inverted tile, which is new to me, having been used only in 75355 X-wing Starfighter and a Harry Potter set until now.
Accompanying the generous slice of cake are two minifigs, and I am assuming that it's the taller boy's birthday and that's his younger sister.
The boy's colourful torso has been used in two other birthday sets, and the Loop Coaster. The girl's fabulously fruity one first appeared in 60384 Penguin Slushy Van earlier this year.
Why is the boy wearing a helmet, and why is there a sledge in the set, I hear you ask?
So he can slide down the cake, obviously...
Overall it's a quirky and fun set that will be well received by anyone celebrating their special day, or indeed the discerning LEGO collector looking for something a bit different.
The 211-piece set will be available at LEGO.com from 1st June, priced at £13.49 / $14.99 / €14.99.

It's making me peckish!
4x8 Inverted Tile first appeared on a HP set 76399 I believe (in Dark Orange).
It also appears on set 75355 yes, but in Medium Stone Gray.
Looks great... if you buy 6 or 8 of them do they fit together to make a whole cake??
Adorable and affordable, might pick one up for my friend's birthday in a few weeks :)
That is pretty adorable.
I like it a lot. Simple, fun, cheap and looks good too. But if this is a 7+ set, how come there are only 7 candles included? ;)
So the surprise in the cake is not Erika Eleniak?
Pretty cool they managed to get three uses out of a fairly simple set without even any need for rebuilding

Watch out, for this comment you may be... under siege.
I'll see myself out.
The boy should have medium sized legs instead of adult legs.
Lovely little set! Might not look that special at first glance, but it has a few nice surprises. And using it as a big slide is....icing on the cake :-)
Excellent little set. Although I do wonder what state the boy will be in after going down the chocolate fondant slide!
Today is my mom’s birthday!
Sledging down a slice of cake :-D
A rocket sled for sledding down a cake? Sure, why not!
Very nice. Creative, fun, and affordable too.
Certainly worth getting.
It's my birthday today, I refuse to believe this is a coincidence...
It's so cute. Great fun little b-day gifts for the kids.
Gonna' pick up a couple for some relatives.
Would've been nice to have a second sled for the other fig so both can race down the slide.
Maybe I can include those extra parts when I give as gifts.
Happy birthday to (insert name here)
Happy birthday to you!
…but is it cake?
Lovely set, nice figures and nice parts too.
The optional "slide" mode instead of just "slice" makes it even nicer.

Am I reading a Brickset review or watching the Great British Bake-off? (Or baking show)
I want to know if they will form a full cake or not. Any idea?? What’s the width/angle of the slice?
Wonderful little set…that’s a day-1 buy for sure.
Nice implementation of DOTS methods in broader sets. Glad to see it.
