By in New Zealand,

Pleasantly surprised to see this is not just used in Minecraft sets. I do hope they keep both versions of chest lid though.

Forever, we just had the round lid, and it takes a whole 24 years to get a flat one, even with the existence of the Lego Minecraft theme existing. The first sets this was in were three Harry Potter sets! So strange.

Lego started to go downhill the very MOMENT they tried to replace the classic treasure chest lid piece. /s

@PurpleDave To reply to your comment on yesterday's part.
It is designed to match the footprint of https://brickset.com/parts/design-67810
It also matches the 4x4 rounded plates from Mario sets, but has not been used in that manner yet.

Mario sets is only 1/16 uses so far, so I'm sure it will continue to be used by designers.

I do agree it needs more to work with it. Surprised we haven't got a studded version of https://brickset.com/parts/design-27925. Although, we do have this https://brickset.com/parts/design-68568

I would like to make some jokes here, but I'll keep a lid on it. No just chesting, it's all puns here

I've seriously been considering going back through my backlog of Minecraft sets and replacing all the lids with this part. It looks so much better!

I thought lids went on your head, not your chest.

@Miyakan:
But you can alternate the 2x2 macaroni brick and that 4x4 macaroni plate to at least help interlock the radiused corner with the rest of the model. That corner element and the geriatric macaroni may match, but they end at the same plane. That makes for terribly unstable construction. So does using large stacks of plates because there aren't any bricks.

Helga Brandt: Mr Osato believes in a healthy chest.

James Bond : Really?

I was so glad to see these showing up in 76399, as it meant Minecraft sets could have a more realistic (to the game) shape.

@Randomness: But it's in more Minecraft sets than Harry Potter ones now, if that's any consolation.

@AustinPowers: Appropriate of you to quote a spy film, considering your username.

Nice chest.

Great design by Lego that matches both the HP trunks and Minecraft chests much better than the classic round one!

You know with those two studs placed like that, feel like this could serve as an actual human chest too, really get full use out of its name

Are you saying you have ten pounds of armpit hair? Because we really didn’t need to know that.

Good one.
Gave me a chuckle.
Which I can absolutely use right now, since my father died two days ago after a long and nasty illness, and every bit of lightening up the mood is highly appreciated.
