Of course, I just bought Ninjago City Markets for a whopping 369,99 euro...

New Zealand gets shafted. Again. It seems that being a VIP here gets you precisely "stuff all". Supposedly the "Gift" With Purchase here is 40580 Blacktron Cruiser - which seems to be something we can *buy* for NZ$50. But there's not actually any way of adding it to your order. And that's it. No 40589, no 40607, nothing else. LEGO.com keeping up the same old standards they've always had.

By in Germany,

I bought 80047 (€ price) and 31140. Got the add-on pack and free shipping.

By in Poland,

Wanted to buy myself something big for my 30th birthday (this week). I'm eyeing Rivendell, but don't have the space.

I think I'll wait and buy the rumoured summer sets - Pirate set from the 1st of July, Himeji Castle and the Tranquil Garden from the August batch.

Today is just the Executor and the small Defender.

That's one of the prices you pay for living in one of the most remote countries in the whole world. We take globalization for granted but it really is not that simple for everything innit?

FYI, I just logged out of my LEGO account, went to the LEGO New Zealand website and added eg the PACMAN arcade to my cart. Blacktron Cruiser was added to my cart without any issues. And now I am jealous, because having another Blacktron Cruiser would be so much cooler than the Pirate Playground we get as GWP here in Europe.

Call LEGO customer service or contact them on Twitter. Depending on who you get on the line you will have to beg a bit, but usually LEGO customer service is pretty lenient with these cases and they will add the additional VIP points to your account.

Say what you will about LEGO, but their customer service is usually superfriendly and very kind.

I ordered a few things around 1:30am this morning (NZ time - yeah, it was a late night) for a total of $220 and 40607 got added to my order so it must have sold out during the day today.

Unfortunately I didn’t see the Blacktron Cruiser option (have to purchase over $330) until after I’d ordered as I would have easily found another $110 worth of stuff to add to my order in order to get it.

I do agree that we (AU and NZ) do tend to get shafted on the number of GWPs that are available for our region. I was lucky enough to get all three of the May 4th promos (though again I was up at 2am on May 1st when the X-Wing became available to put my order in), but I think by the end of the day on May 1st only the poly bag was left and by the 4th itself I don’t think anything was left.

Actually, from two days ago until Tuesday, because I placed a PAB order and also ordered some Disney 100 minifigures to meet the threshold for 40607 then. Also, am I the only one who's amused that 40607 has a Santa hat? Christmas in July (well, June), I guess.

I love these little seasonal polybags. Pirate playgrounds not so much. Off to shop!

Sometimes a call to LEGO Customer Service can help with this :)

By in United States,

If you earn double points and spend them on discounts, what is the rate of dollar spent to dollar saved? Is it like 5% off?

Swim fins, air tanks, diver's mask... no helmet to put the diver's mask on. But a Santa hat? I don't get it.

Is sand skiing a thing? They have skies and poles in it as well. The skis could be used for waterskiing, but that wouldn't use the poles.

VIPs also get a fleece blanket with orders over $200 in the US.

By in Netherlands,

Ofcourse i ordered the A-frame Cabin on monday.....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For me a desirable GWP always takes precedence over 2x points and I've already got the current 2.
So I'm waiting for the 20th for the 40590 Homes of the World 2 rerun which I hope the UK will be getting as well as the rumoured Germany.

If double points matters to you then why would you do that when we knew an event was coming this month? We may have known exact dates but we knew it would happen.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was waiting for the “right” time to get the ultimate (for me) set of the decade: Rivendell. A bunch of free stuff and $50 in vip rewards (10% of $500) is probably as good a deal as I’ll get on this set, so I bit.
I agree, double points on $100-$200 sets isn’t as good as a great GWP. But for sets SO far over the GWP spending threshold, the double points become better and better.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The GWPs are very lacklustre so I’ll save a large order for a later event with better incentives.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Been waiting since March for double VIP points to get 10316. Ordered the set today. Well worth the wait!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally got ahold of 10305 in-store this morning, and I received the Summer Fun Pack but no Pirate Playground. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over that ... not when I have this glorious Castle set in front of me! The shock of pure 1980s nostalgia is almost overwhelming.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All - remember to hold off on using VIP points until after 2X is over.

An excuse to buy the big minifigure :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

@sjr60: I'll agree that a nice GWP is better than double VIP points (of course, what's best is when they combine, as on May the Fourth), but while I have 40589, I don't have 40607, and I'm planning to open up a Bricklink store to unload my extra CMFs and the pieces that I wasn't interested in from VIP packs I already have (as well as some other extra stuff I've picked up), so decided to pull that trigger.

Yeah, I guess that's the price we pay for not living next door to a war zone.

My 40607 appears in my order confirmation as "tbd-Glitched-3 V29" ...

PIrates Playground does not appear in my cart in USA, just the Summer Fun Pack.

It does not matter, I simply found it amusing. like another stated, gwp are better as I generally save those to give as gifts when needed.
