Brickworld Chicago this weekend

One of the largest U.S. conventions, Brickworld Chicago, is back this weekend at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. The convention for attendees starts Wednesday night with a mixer. The opening keynote on Thursday evening features Corey Samuels from U.S. LEGO Masters Season 1. There are many other sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Over 40 U.S. LEGO Masters Contestants from the three seasons are scheduled to be in attendance. They will be in panel talks and have building activities, including a demolition derby based on the infamous episode from Season 2. The convention will be open to the public on Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 10-3.

I'll also be there for most of the weekend. On Thursday I'm hosting the Women's Brick Initiative (WBI) social, and Friday afternoon I'm leading the WBI workshop, which features building Lowell spheres and quilt squares. On Friday night, Tacos Blandino from Season 3 LEGO Masters will be leading a Zumba class, and I will be a guest instructor.

Over the weekend you'll be able to find me at the WBI table, which will feature our two collaborative builds, including the WBI quilt. Please stop by and say hi - I will have a limited number of 1x8 Brickset bricks to give away.
