Hey, you got a little smudge of dirt there, on your forehead. Just let me...yeah, um, wow, that's really stuck on there good. You might need some of that commercial-grade soap to get that off.

As someone who owns about 90% of all the HP sets, I feel that Lego's approach to the Harry Potter character as a minifigure is some of the laziest, least-inspired toy making ever.

So boring. It's a good RMOTD to put us all to sleep..... yawnnnnnn... (mumbles) thanks Huwbot (snuggles into covers).

Ah yes, came in 75950 the Spider Battle pack.

So this is our small, bland Harry Potter minifigure for this week. Good choice, very bland. Not as bland as last week's, but that will be hard to beat.

Cool story about this Minifigure:

The 2002 equivalent’s torso was reused in other themes for quite a while, including on the paperboy in the cover of LEGO Club Magazine July - August 2011. I know this because I’m using the cover as reference material for a (unofficial and for fun so far) poster of my planned Alien Conquest/XCOM movie. There is the off-chance that that’s a different torso (or at least a partial recolor) but I doubt that.

What else would you guys want to be done with the HP minifig? He look slike that in the movie. I'm genuinely confused by this criticism?

Yes, this (like almost all of the Harrys) is a boring little fig. But, that was a pretty cool little set.

"You're a chav Harry"

I think it's an excellent representation of Harry in this scene, and the original version from 2002 was exceptionally accurate for the time. Also, I saw someone on Instagram use this torso to make a perfect Bully Maguire the other day, so dig on that!

@NotProfessorWhymzi:
I wouldn't characterize him as a Gary Stu. Throughout the eight movies, he regularly relies on his friends and teachers, rather than simply getting by on an abundance of untrained skills and unbelievable luck. Contrast this with Rey, who can fight Darth Tantrum with no training, can fly the Millennium Falcon with no training, and basically abandons all the other "main" characters because they are simply unnecessary in the face of her overwhelming untrained awesomeness. I have pointedly avoided rewatching the Disney stuff, so I can't specifically recall whether or not she ever experiences failure, but Harry certainly does.

No training other than growing up using a staff to defend herself and working for a used starship dealer.

Seriously, "Rey has no training" is just a really bad example that doesn't fit with details given in the movie.

@DekoPuma:
Anyone who has spent any time learning armed combat could tell you that fighting with a staff doesn’t make you proficient with a sword. And any pilot could tell you that, just because the general theory is the same doesn’t mean you’ll be ready to fly a random plane with an unfamiliar layout involving hundreds of switches and gauges. And that still doesn’t cover the fact that she was busting out advanced force powers when Luke needed a training montage in his second film to learn enough that he _thought_ he was ready to take on a trained Force user (and promptly proved this was not even slightly true).

She had flown the Falcon before, it wasn't just a random ship. And she certainly was not proficient with a sword. She barely held her own against a guy who was half dead and not actually trying to kill her.

"Advanced force powers"? Sure, whatever.

The impression I got was that nobody had flown the Falcon during her lifetime, and her first time behind the controls was in combat. And she managed mind control on Phasma right off the bat. Luke didn't ever attempt that until his third film.

It's not criticism, I'm just noting a pattern and trying to make it into a funny.

If you're reading this, Daniel Radcliffe - and I have no reason to believe that you're not - this isn't personal. You are a treasure and a delight, and you could brighten up any room just by walking in. I'm happy you have so many minifigs to your name. You keep doing you, but maybe not that horse.

So if 80,000+ have this set and that's not counting the number of people who don't go to Brickset, how many sets are actually produced worldwide?

That puts into perspective with the limited run of 20,000. Still sounds like a lot, but is barely anything ultimately.

Either way, the figure works for me.

@Sethro3:
Yeah, I got over 100 copies of Nuhvok Va, which would be 0.5% of a 20k run. If they put strict limits of one per household on it, 20k may be enough that they don't sell out of any sets within the first 24 hours, but I still wouldn't bank on that.

Hey, I have this guy--which I only know because I was disassembling him last night. I pretty sure, just from the other figs in the lot, that he's from that Hogwarts Express, but that'd be pure guesswork.

I'm I going to get Harries Potter, I suppose I'd rather get civilian-dress versions. This is a fairly nice torso and you can reuse the legs and hair. That head, though... having some troubles there.

No one mind controls Phasma... ever (my understanding is that she's got a quarter portion of Toydarian). The trooper Rey did control was played by Daniel Craig/James Bond.

I have no problem with you disliking the ST. But, you should probably take the plunge and watch them if you plan on ranting about them. Otherwise, you're just giving all of us a headache.
