Most recent set I got this in: 60179 ambulance helicopter
It's not plane at all! It's curved!
Makes me tempted to finally open my 60193 to check that my frozen saber-toothed tiger hasn't defrosted!
This part is just plane awesome!
Now that we know LEGO doesn't like this part, at least they had the good sense to censor their opinion of it.

There may not be any such thing as a curved plane, but plane curves do exist in mathematics. This doesn’t really look like a parabola, though…
It’s funny that this has been classed as “Transportation Means” and not “Windscreens and Cockpits”; gives the mental image of minifigs riding around on this, just being yeeted across the sky like a giant boomerang
Window F. Plane might be one of the favorite pieces of Paul F. Tompkins.
Oh, this was a piece I just encountered for the first time in that Lot I got last October. The lot had several other brands mixed in besides Lego, and at first I discarded this piece into the "off-brand" pile since it didn't have any familiar connection points and so didn't register obviously as Lego to me.
It was only when I started building up what complete sets I could from the lot and discovered that it included most of 7206 that I realised I'd made a mistake there, and had to go digging in the rejected parts pile to find it again xD
I'm not really one for big one-piece cockpits, but it *is* a pretty impressive helicopter nonetheless...

I donate most of the bags of off-brand bricks from such lots. However, I decided to keep them from the last one. I built a simple multi-colored bird house and kraggled it for stability. It looks great in the yard!

That's a pretty cool idea!
I've also encountered this part in used lots--including my most recent one, where it came without the frame. I... am not sure I'll ever use it solo.
