Of the five recently announced Editions sets based on Olivia Rodrigo, one stands apart from the others by also being classified as a Botanicals set: 11507 Olivia Rodrigo's Flower Bouquet. With 400 pieces, it's not actually the smallest of the line, but definitely feels as such due to the flowers' nature.

Not only is this an unusual combination of two themes—both of which are given prominence on the box, although the style is primarily the white Editions look rather than the dark Botanicals—this also appears to be the first Botanicals set based on a licenced property. So, what makes this bouquet of flowers Olivia Rodrigo's?

Review: 31221 Gustav Klimt - The Kiss

LEGO seems to be going through famous artists for reproductions of their work.....da Vinci, Monet, van Gogh. Gustav Klimt is next for this treatment, and LEGO has chosen what is arguably his most important work: The Kiss.

I've had the privilege of seeing The Kiss in person at the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. It is captivating in person, and pretty massive! I was interested to see how it would translate in LEGO form.

The answer is a sizeable LEGO Art set, coming in at an even 4,000 pieces, and a formidable box. The result is a stunning display piece, though not without frustrations along the way.

LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants returns!

LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants ran as a theme fairly consistently between 2006 and 2012, but ended then and did not return for Dimensions or BrickHeadz, as many licensed themes from the 2000s have.

However, the friendly sea sponge finally returns this year, as a BrickHeadz model and a minifigure in 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom! Though I find the Icons branding a bit silly for this kind of set, the houses on Conch Street look fantastic, with far greater detail than previous renditions of the neighbourhood.

Third 2025 Ideas review results announced

Three projects from the 75 that qualified during the third 2025 review period have passed review, so will be added to the backlog of LEGO Ideas sets, and released sometime next year. I have to say, one of them is a strange choice given another recent announcement.

The two projects in the parking lot which contains ideas that are awaiting a decision, Daft Punk and Lunch atop a Skyscraper, remain there, and have been joined by four more.

Review: 43028 Olivia Rodrigo's Vinyl

LEGO announced a surprise addition to the Editions theme introduced this year, expanding a range that had previously focused exclusively on sporting icons to include pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo. While the theme's first releases celebrated landmark moments from the world of football and F1, these new sets instead take inspiration from one of the biggest names in contemporary music.

Since the release of her debut album SOUR in 2021, Olivia Rodrigo has become a well-known singer-songwriter, with two best-selling album releases and sell-out world tour last year. The five new display-focused sets added to the line highlight her recognisable aesthetic of purple tones, butterflies, stars, and other recurring motifs that have become closely associated with her music and branding. I appreciate that many of us here may not be her target demographic, however!

The first one I've taken a look at is 43028 Olivia Rodrigo's Vinyl, a representation of a vinyl record that can either be hung on the wall or placed on a surface, and includes Olivia herself in minifigure form.

Review: 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet

Plenty of memorable Star Wars helmets appear throughout the movies, though 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet cannot exactly be considered among them! This trooper was only featured in The Mandalorian and Grogu for ten or perhaps twenty seconds, after all.

Nevertheless, this model looks very accurate to the movie and includes some clever techniques, as we have come to expect from the Helmet Collection. Perhaps the quality of the design will overcome the relative obscurity of the subject, in this instance.

Review: 31393 Forest Animals: Grey Wolf

Two years ago, LEGO released 31154 Forest Animals: Red Fox, giving us the option of building from three woodland animals—a fox, a squirrel, and an owl. This year, the theme-within-a-theme continues with 31393 Forest Animals: Grey Wolf, but with a more North American twist—a wolf, a falcon, or a raccoon.

The number of brick-built animals in the Creator range just grows and grows, with some truly excellent models produced lately, and 31393 Forest Animals: Grey Wolf is no exception.
