LEGO's last foray into playable arcade games, 21337 Table Football, was an unmitigated disaster, so it's perhaps surprising that the company is launching another, 11374 Arcade Pinball Machine.

As well as promising to be more than just a display model, it's also looking to tap into our collective nostalgia for Classic Space. It succeeds in one of these aims, but not the other...

This year's Inside Tour set revealed

Jay's Brick Blog has revealed that the set given to attendees of this year's LEGO Inside Tours in Billund is 4000049 Vintage LEGO Logo.

The 1,614-piece set builds a 3D version of the logo used by the LEGO company in 1946 that, in addition to a plethora of drum lacquered gold pieces that make up the letters, also includes some surprises in a 'secret' drawer housed in the base.

It looks to be one of the better Inside Tour sets, so is likely to command a hefty price on the secondary market, especially as so few are made and most participants do not part with them. Those that do can recoup most of the cost of the tour.

Review: 72537 Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird

KPop Demon Hunters' incredible popularity was totally unexpected when the animation debuted last year, so very little merchandise was available on release. The reaction has been fast, as 72537 Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird will be released less than a year after the movie.

The short development time has not diminished these characters' designs though, as both creatures are expressive and Derpy in particular is very detailed. Also, there are plenty of accessories provided, ready for some different display options, so this should be a fun set.

Review: 42702 Spinning Flower and Fairy Teacup Ride

The amusement park subtheme got off to a fine start with 42703 Mermaid Roller Coaster Ride. The Friends team is working their way around the park by adding a teacup ride! I'm happy to see this as those rides were my favourite when I was a child.

42702 Spinning Flower and Fairy Teacup Ride provides the classic attraction with a bit of a twist. As the name implies, the "teacups" are actually flower blooms, under a towering flower. On first look, the "fairy" part isn't obvious to me, but I'm sure that will be self-evident soon enough.

Review: 77260 Fast & Furious Toyota Supra MK4

Speed Champions has produced a selection of memorable cars featured in the Fast & Furious franchise lately and 77260 Fast & Furious Toyota Supra MK4 is the latest example. Brian's orange car appeared in Technic form last year, so the Speed Champions rendition feels essential.

Beyond its distinctive livery, which looks superb and avoids relying too much on stickers, the car's shape seems very accurate too. A new spoiler bracket element is included, but perhaps more notable are the chrome silver wheels. I considered newly-chromed elements a thing of the past, but clearly not!

Review: 910065 Coconut Cape

Though classic LEGO themes have occasionally been represented in LEGO Icons, the BrickLink Designer Program has done much of the work recently. 910065 Coconut Cape is another fine example, serving as a counterpart to the lovely 910053 The Thieves of Tortuga.

This set has been available to pre-order for a few days now, but there are still several days to go and the Coconut Cape definitely warrants a closer look, for anybody considering making a pre-order. This will be quite a brief review, but one with plenty of photos.

LEGO Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci gift-with-purchase revealed!

40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci has arrived on LEGO.com, continuing the series of 'tribute' gifts-with-purchase released in recent years.

This set contains 251 pieces and a Leonardo da Vinci minifigure, re-using elements from 10363 Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine. We have no official information concerning when the set will be available or what the purchase threshold will be, but given it is on LEGO.com, presumably it will be released later this month.

It seems like the Mona Lisa is a printed tile, which would be great. You can view more images below...

Yes, the new Speed Champions windscreen is dual-moulded!

Two of this summer's Speed Champions models include a new windscreen element with A-pillars, which has provoked conversation about whether this piece is printed or dual-moulded.

Understandably, I think fans may have assumed that the element would be printed because past Speed Champions cars have had printed windscreens, but I can confirm this piece is, in fact, dual-moulded! I have taken a few photos showing it from all sides to illustrate this.

Review: 77262 Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V1

76921 Audi S1 e-tron quattro was launched two years ago, based on the car designed to appear in Ken Block's last Gymkhana videos. 77262 Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V1 is inspired by an earlier video and I think the car looks fantastic in LEGO form!

Block's heavily modified Ford Mustang makes a pleasing change for Speed Champions, which has been dominated by modern supercars and F1 cars lately. Brilliant though many of those sets are, I am happy to see something new, with an outstanding Ken Block minifigure included as well.

BLDP series 8 pre-orders have begun

Pre-orders for the five sets that comprise BrickLink Designer Program series 8 are now being accepted.

All models that receive at least 3,000 orders will be manufactured and, as before, production numbers are expected to be flexible, so even popular sets should be available for a reasonable length of time.

The pre-ordering phase lasts until June 18, with production and shipping beginning in November.
