I think the standard of microscale vehicles within 75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar has been truly exceptional, while the exclusive minifigures have been impressive too.
Hopefully a third such minifigure arrives today...
While the pattern of 76404 Harry Potter Advent Calendar has been clear, predicting the contents of the final day is often tricky. Nevertheless, I am expecting to find a minifigure.
Let's open door number 24, before summarising the fourth Harry Potter Advent Calendar...
While there have been several excellent models and fun minifigures, I think 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar has been decidedly underwhelming, on the whole.
See whether the calendar improves on the final day and find our summary below...
Merry Christmas Eve! We've opened all the doors in the calendar but one and as a result have a good festive scene with activities indoors and out. There's little mystery about what's behind the last door of the calendar.
Merry Christmas Eve! It's been so much fun building our way through the calendar, and watching the Christmas market take shape. Yesterday's chair was a lovely build, and obviously is waiting for its occupant. As a result, there's little surprise as to what we'll find behind today's door.
Hoth nearly always appears prominently in Star Wars Advent Calendars and reasonably so, given its wintry climate. Presumably this frozen planet will remain in focus today.
Yesterday's tiny model of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, with the Ukrainian Ironbelly on top, was certainly a fun addition to the Advent Calendar, having never appeared in LEGO before.
Hopefully today's item achieves similar quality...
We completed the festive spacecraft yesterday, which I was quite pleased with. However, a click hinge remains vacant on the back, so I presume today will provide an attachment.
I'm very excited about the new pony that we found behind yesterday's door! A plus was that it also came with a few extra bricks, so we weren't left with just an animal behind the door, as we were on Day 17 of the Friends calendar. However, using that calendar as a precedent, we're going to waste no time in putting the pony to work.
We're almost there - Day 23! While yesterday's camera set up was a little disappointing, the plus side of that means that there's only way to go from here - right?
The first sixteen days of this Star Wars Advent Calendar loosely followed chronological order, interrupted only by Hoth's annual appearance over the past five days.
Nearing the end of 76404 Harry Potter Advent Calendar, we reach The Deathly Hallows Part II, which has only been represented by two LEGO sets, with a third coming in 2023.
Scenes selected for this Advent Calendar could hint towards LEGO's focus for future sets...
Yesterday we received the base of a spacecraft, not dissimilar in design to Microfighters from LEGO Star Wars. I think we can assume another piece will appear today.
After yesterday's somewhat disappointing lamppost, my expectations are much higher for today's build. There's only three builds left, so there surely must be something impressive behind today's door?
Only three more days to go in the calendar, and yesterday's market stall with cupcakes was a fine addition. I would expect these last days to finish things off in style.
Across the previous four days, we have received an Imperial Snowtrooper and an AT-ST, opposed by two Rebel turrets. A minifigure to direct those defences would be welcome today.
Following interesting models from The Deathly Hallows on the previous two days, hopefully an equally interesting minifigure will arrive on day 21, like those throughout this calendar.
Given the natural prevalence of Christmas trees in LEGO Advent Calendars, yesterday's inventive model was welcome and the minifigure from the day before was also well-received.
We're down to the last four builds in the calendar, so we should get some really good builds to take us through the last four days. Here's hoping the campfire yesterday didn't burn the barn down, and let's open door number 21.
Our Christmas finally has a Christmas tree, as well as presents to put underneath. This is turning into a very fun excursion for our minidolls, with all the games and food choices. What else can we add to the market? Opening Door 21 will reveal all.
