LEGO Masters week 8 exit interview

After a doubleheader the week prior, last week we were back to a normal broadcast schedule. Not for long, though - this week there will be two episodes, on Wednesday and Thursday nights, though watching the latter will mean sacrificing watching part of the last (U.S.) football game of the day. As these are being broadcast on a holiday weekend, exit interviews from these two episodes will be delayed.

We're past the halfway point of the season, and heading into the homestretch. What teams will be around for the next episode, and who went home this week? Of course, we'll have pictures of all the final builds as well after the break.

LEGO Masters week 7 exit interview

After some pre-emption of episodes thanks to baseball games in the previous weeks, last week, LEGO Masters fans were treated to a double header of episodes, on Sunday and then again on the regularly scheduled Wednesday night. We published the exit interview from Episode 6 earlier in the week (and I was right, it did not have the same "awwww" factor as Episode 5). After the break, we'll recap all the action from this week (as always, spoilers after the break), and of course, share all the builds from Episode 7.

After another hiatus due to another baseball game, we were treated to double the LEGO Masters episodes last week. Today we'll review everything that happened and talk to the eliminated team, but it will be difficult to top the "awww" factor that last week's episode had. As always, we'll show all the final builds.

Last week, we saw the first challenge that involved a non-LEGO connection - in fact, no connection at all, since teams had to build a treehouse - in a tree! It was a welcome change from the build and destroy challenges from the previous weeks. Read on to find what the challenge was for week five, which team went home, and of course, pictures of all the builds.

LEGO Masters week 4 exit interview

After a week of being pre-empted by a baseball playoff game, LEGO Masters was back last week for the fourth episode (although in the U.S., it was delayed by almost an hour because of another baseball game). Canadian viewers got to see the episode a week early.

Although a team was eliminated last week, the mid-season twist was the introduction of a new team at the end of the third episode. So ten teams are still in the competition. After the break, we'll meet the team that went home, and as always, show all the builds from the week.

Interview with LEGO Masters judges, Brickmasters Amy and Jamie

Posted by ,

An integral part of US LEGO Masters are the judges, Brickmasters Amy and Jamie. Of course, AFOLs know them first as LEGO set designers. Brickset had the opportunity to sit down with Amy and Jamie yesterday. Read on to learn how being on LEGO Masters has affected their work in Billund, how their judging style has changed, and what they think about the changes implemented this season.

How has your judging developed as the series has continued into its third season?

Jamie: The show has evolved nicely for us, as we have been able to move away somewhat from being very critical and serious judges and towards coaching the teams, at least to some degree. We definitely have more latitude now to talk to the builders and try to bring out the best in them, which is actually not dissimilar to how we work in Billund.

Amy: I think another of our major learnings has been expressing our thoughts more concisely and adapting our communication so everyone at home can understand, including those less familiar with LEGO. Those have been challenges from the beginning, learning how to judge for television presentation rather than for a small group with time to listen. Nowadays, we can come up with our one-liners for television and the home audience, separate to giving the teams more detailed feedback.

We're back in the swing of things in season three of LEGO Masters. It's nice to see guest stars in the show again! Another team was eliminated this week; we'll interview that team after the break. There was a surprise at the end of this week's show - we have coverage of that as well.

For those who were missing an interview with the first team eliminated, we have a possibility for that interview, continue to watch this space. As always, we're including all the final builds from this week's show.

LEGO Masters week 2 exit interview

LEGO Masters is back in the U.S. with Season 3, and as with the previous seasons Brickset has been invited to interview contestants as they exit the show. Unlike previous seasons, a team was eliminated after the first episode; however that team was not made available for an exit interview.

This week's challenge had a Jurassic Park theme and had Chris Pratt (and Blue) as guest stars. Additionally, teams were assigned a special effect (sparks, gunpowder trail, etc.) that they had to incorporate in their builds. After the break we have an interview with the second team eliminated from the show, as well as pictures of all the builds for the week.
