Set #30521 The Mini Batmobile: Another LEGO Batman Movie polybag that features a micro-build of one of the bat-vehicles from this film is rather interesting in design and appearance. Is it worth tracking down? We’ll cover the pros and cons of this polybag and then give final thoughts and let you be the judge of it.
Pros:
-
Impressively captures the look and design of the larger on-screen model in micro-build fashion.
-
Good use of parts. Includes NEXO Shield piece in black unprinted.
-
Fun to play with, design allows for wheels to be detached from Technic axles and attached in alternate way to simulate the ability to raise up higher on the wheels as seen in the film.
-
Price-per-piece ratio seems very fair.
Cons:
-
Model is a bit on the thin side due to the design, making it look as though you are getting less for your money due to the nature of this design.
-
Wheels need to be detached and reattached to simulate gimmick from larger set model, could result in lost wheels during play.
-
Less pieces than Mini Batwing.
Overall opinion
Not a bad looking polybag or model, it feels like an afterthought at times with the design. However I do enjoy the inclusion of a mini-Batmobile from the movie. The use of the Batarang accessory for the bat motif on the front looks quite clever. Overall I’d recommend this for folks who want to own a miniature of the Batmobile model seen in the film or completionists. There are better sets from the film to focus on, I feel the Mini Batwing is a slightly better model and polybag compared to this one. Mildly recommended.
