A Perfect Microscale Back-To-The-Future Set
Introduction: Receiving this set as a kid, I was reasonably disappointed. The Guardians of the Galaxy sets had just come out, and I was all in. It has spent a lot of time collecting dust and lacking appreciation. However, upon staring at it one day, I realised how similar it is to the famous location from one of my favorite movies, Back to the Future. Upon this misconception, I began to admire the delicate architecture on this nine year-old Bricktober exclusive set. I came to the conclusion that it really is a cool set for the fans of this LEGO genre, and it gave birth to a new respect for it.
Build: The Build is a delicate array of small pieces comprising a town hall type build. I would love to see LEGO do a minifigure scale version of this. The columns in the front are brilliantly formed by the average gate piece, and it works very well in the build. Some clear pieces around the sides and the back give off a window illusion, and the set is very good at what it's trying to be.
Conclusion: As the title states, I do believe this set has a very similar appearance to the location in the beloved science fiction film. It displays very well next to Marty and Doc Brown, or its just a fun small sized decoration reminder of the film. It's nowhere near a favorite set, but it's decent for what it is.
