    excellent quality for the 9V system

    What is the point in reviewing the speed regulatoryou could say. Well you are right it is simple, it consists of a few pieces and there is not much to say about it.

    this is exactly why it is so good, it doesn't fail, it is sturdy and is good quality, the design is the same as the technic control centre which is the same quality

    pros;
    -strong
    -reliable
    -easy to control
    -nice looking design

    cons;
    -system is cancelled by Lego

    New life for old set

    Written by (AFOL) in Portugal,

    I got this set with 70% off in a clearance sale last year. I was hoping to start a train collection but I soon gave up the idea to own a 9V train system.

    The transformer stayed unused and I even considered selling it until I came across this little part from LEGO: 8886 (or 8871) Extension Wire.

    The extension wire allows to connect the transformer to the new power functions (PF) electrical parts. My static models with PF don't need batteries any longer.

    The transformer is therefore used during expositions to power moving models or the Great Ball Contraption (GBC).
