The original fortress of the mighty Black Falcons!
Lego re-released this set a few years ago, and I absolutely had to jump at the chance to finally own it! I always thought Black Falcon's Fortress was one of the prettier early Lego castles, even though it was somewhat tiny compared to what the Crusaders and Black Knights would have. It was the first set I ever got that had a real working drawbridge, and I thought that was really neat with how it worked! An amazing castle, and a high recommendation to anyone who can get their hands on one!

One of the most beautiful Castle sets ever
The yellow wall (panel), the details in round 1x1 brick, the roof and the towers of front made this fortress one of the most beautiful sets released by Lego Group.
For sure that's a legend from 1986, 3 years before I born. Talking about time, this set only can be rivaled by 90's 6081 - King's Mountain Fortress in terms of "fortress" and in terms of castles just a few are comparable to 6074 - Black Flacon's Fortress.
The parts and minifigures are ok. We have two brave knights with cape and only 2 black falcon's shields and swords it's a shame but, we have an axe, decored panels and grey walls too and 2 yellow arch o_O, maybe it can be gray, anyway... Well, you can construct some frames in the areas of fortress, the set accepts this and that's pretty nice!
This set is unique and have the style of 80's Lego!
Maybe you can listen Manowar to build this, maybe not! LOL
Hail!

Lego Steve's Review
The second Falcon castle, this set is a lot more aesthetically pleasing than the first, The small yellow structure at the back (possibly a chapel) is a nice counter to the grey of the walls, the yellow flags on the front also help tie this image together. Unique to this set is the small blue flag with the Falcon’s symbol upon it, whilst the yellow timber frame was first seen here (and only used once after this).
The only criticism I would give to this set is the lack of shields, the previous castle was very generous but with this set less so. Overall that is a minor complaint and the set was so popular it was re-released in the Legends series in 2002, proving its high quality (on a minor note, in 1986 both this set and the Guarded Inn were build and then released as Legends sets, 1986 was a good year for castle).

great
All I can say is its a great set, when I bought this I was speechless, not at the set, at the price! but then I remembered I had all these other knight sets, so I combined all of them to get a massive fortress! now, enough talk and more serious stuff!
5?! I chose it to be 5 because it is a really fantastic set if you are imaginative. it comes as a fold out castle, 6 minifigures and lots and lots more!
One thing though ... if you don't already have any other major knights sets this isn't worth buying, for it doesn't have that many pieces, but as I said, if it's for a child then go buy it!3 out of 3 people thought this review was helpful.
My first big lego set
I got this in the late 80s. It was my first "big" lego set. I sent an afternoon putting it together, then hours playing with it. You got a lot of cool parts, and quite a few mini-figs. It really is a great set.
