Set #71212 The LEGO Movie Fun Pack Emmet: If you get the Starter Pack you don’t really need any of the other LEGO Movie inspired packs if you’re just playing the game casually, but if you are trying to get 100% of everything in the game then Emmet is a must have pack for his unique abilities.

    Packaging

Everything is Awesome when Emmet shows up on the package of LEGO Dimensions Fun Packs. It’s a pretty fun looking package with Emmet on the front and showing his toy wonderfully.

    Parts

A lot of yellow elements in this set. Nothing too impressive, you get four of the bar attaching cylinders with clips on one end, two black and two yellow.

    Minifigures

Emmet: This variation was seen quite a lot in The LEGO Movie sets, however by the time LEGO Dimensions started most of those had retired so it was nice to see the parts again. Included with him is the LEGO Jackhammer accessory.

    The build

Emmet’s Excavator: This is an extremely fun little build. It looks like a miniaturized LEGO Construction vehicle and looks great, you can remove it from the Toy Tag and roll it around on all four wheels.

The Destroydozer: This secondary model is equally as fun to build. You can remove it from the toy tag and play with it and the build is just super satisfying.

Destruct-O-Mech: This build is fun and easy enough to build. The design even incorporates the wheels quite nicely and uses the parts very effectively to make it as poseable as possible.

    The completed model

Emmet’s Excavator & Alternative Models: All three of these models are very nice actually, all three of them can be removed from the Toy Tag and played with offline, and their Online counterparts are diverse and quite useful. I like all three models so much I’d recommend getting enough parts to make all three of the models in physical form to play with or display as part of your LEGO Movie collection.

    The Digital Content

The Adventure World: Emmet gives you access to The LEGO Movie Adventure World, which is available from the Starter Pack thanks to Wyldstyle. I believe I covered that world in great detail in the Starter Pack discussion. Not much else to say here honestly.

Character & Vehicle Abilities: Emmet can Drill, is a Master Builder to solve Master Builder puzzles and has the Fix-It ability. Not a diverse grouping of abilities, however drilling is unique to Emmet, meaning you have to buy him unless you choose Bane whose vehicle also has the Drill ability.

Emmet’s Excavator can Dig and access Accelerator Switchs, when you rebuild it into the secondary model you can add Tow-Bar to the repertoire of digital abilities. The third and final model loses all of those abilities to become a Mech Walker capable of destroying Cracked LEGO Objects and allowing characters to ride inside of them.

    Overall opinion

Emmet is a fun character, what’s really fun is listening to him talk with Owen from the Jurassic World set, both of which are voiced by Chris Pratt. The fact that he comes with a unique ability makes him a must own pack. Recommended for that reason. The models are all really fun too and I’d strongly suggest getting the parts from Pick-A-Brick or Bricklink and make all three of them to have fun with, they’re really impressive.
