Teen Titans Go to Dimensions
Set #71287 Teen Titans Go Fun Pack: With this final TTG set from LEGO Dimensions we are closing in on the last few items from this Theme at last. This Fun Pack features a highly desirable DC Minifigure, which is probably why it and the two pack with Raven are must own for Minifigure collectors. As far as the digital content of the game is concerned, well we’re about to get started discussing that, but first:
Packaging
Starfire is hovering on the front of this package ready to attack with her star bolts. There is also the sticker which indicates you unlock an exclusive episode with this Fun Pack, the only Fun Pack to my knowledge that unlocks more than just the Adventure World for the characters in question. Not much else to discuss about this packaging, it’s a uniform design for the entire Theme, so moving on.
Parts
Not a lot of parts in this set either, but you will find some nice dark pink elements including a Minifigure Helmet accessory as part of the model. Not much else to discuss really, even Starfire’s toy tag is a bit bland with the print compared to what you’ll find in other sets.
Minifigures
Starfire: Unfortunately there are no accessories for this character, so you can’t give her the star bolts, she also didn’t get the benefit of dual-molded legs for the detailing, so her leg print looks a bit lacking compared to the impressive torso design she was given. She has two expressions, a happy smiling one and a startled looking one as if she can’t comprehend what has gone wrong.
Overall she’s fairly impressive, but I feel her design could have been done slightly better for the detailing.
The build
Titan Robot: Here we have an interesting little model to build. A robotic companion for Starfire to control, this model uses the parts fairly well, but the build isn’t much to talk about. It’s a miniature mecha model, the arms aren’t very poseable unfortunately.
T-Rocket: This second model is far more interesting to build. I actually feel it’s he stand-out model of the set because of how ingenious it is in design. I really dig the re-use of parts here and would recommend making this your default model on the Toy Tag.
Robot Retriever: I’m not sure why Starfire is getting all these robots, I mean it fits with Cyborg, but Starfire isn’t the mechanic of the Titans. Anyway, this third model is pretty fun looking, building a massive robot dog can be fun.
The completed model
Titan Robot: It’s another buildable giant robot thing, this model has some interesting ideas compared to the others from LEGO Dimensions, but I feel that there was some missing elements here. For one thing the arms have no elbow joints and are attached with c-clips onto posts, so you have a limited range of mobility. The legs are limited as well, but you don’t truly need a lot of motion for the legs compared to the arms.
T-Rocket: This model looks very clever and I think it is the stand out model. It works on so many levels. It’s a funky rocket ship that can blast around and join the Titans on adventures. It stands upright so it could represent a strange version of the Titans Tower. It is so much more interesting and clever in design that I feel this is the stand out model.
Robot Retriever: There isn’t a whole lot to discuss here, but I do feel that it’s a very cute looking model and reminds me a bit of one of those weird Merry-Go-Round animals you’d find at a fair. Especially with the tall rod sticking out the back for the tail.
The Digital Content
Adventure World: There isn’t much to say here. This Fun Pack unlocks everything that you’d expect and is pretty much identical to the Team Pack. So if you already have that you won’t be unlocking much.
Battle Arena: This is a new multiplayer level for you to explore, it’s called Teen Titans PARTY ARENA and sounds really impressive. As I’ve noted before I’ve never really visited this portion of the game much. Enjoy this area with your friends when you play this game.
Character & Vehicle Abilities: Starfire is a Flying character so has the ability to fly through aerial races and just enjoy exploring all of the worlds of LEGO Dimensions.
Her other abilities also include: Diving, the Acrobat skill, can Regenerate Hearts, Destroy Rainbow LEGO Objects, has the Laser ability, can interact with Atlantis portals and Parseltongue Doors. A great diversity of abilities and it’s interesting that you don’t need any of the Wizards to use those snake doors.
The Titan Robot acts as a Special Weapon with the Tow-Bar ability and can destroy Cracked and Silver LEGO Objects. The T-Rocket can Destroy Gold LEGO Objects and acts as a flying vehicle that can interact with Flight Docks and Flight Cargo Hooks.
The Robot Retriever can also Destroy Gold LEGO Objects and has the Super Jump, Dig and Electricity Puzzles abilities. Overall a decent amount of abilities amongst the three vehicle models.
Overall opinion
As far as what you get here this is a set I believe could be safely skipped if you got the Team Pack. However if you’re looking for Starfire as a Minifigure to own this one is a must own. So I guess I’d have to recommend this set for that one alone, but it is a mild recommendation. Only get this if you wanted to get everything from LEGO Dimensions, if you only want to unlock everything you’d be better off just picking up the Team Pack.
Mildly Recommended.
