The good, the bad and the ugly

    Written by (AFOL) in Austria,

I love bikes and I love Technic Lego bikes. But this one is far the most ugly of all bigger chain driven Lego Technik motorcycles. But it has some advantages …

    GOOD:

    • The wheels (a bit small in my opinion) do look awesome. I love the fat rear tyre and the detailed profile.
    • Technical realizations: moving pistons, chain drive, steering, kick stand.
    • Cool to see a blue bike.
    • Single sided swingarm and a realistic suspension at the back.
    • Surprising stable framework. Despite its look the bike is quite rigid (the front end isn´t).

    BAD:

    • Wobbling front end even there is no suspension.
    • No front suspension!
    • Missing details. Speed display and headlights would´ve been nice.

    UGLY:

    • Overall look. I don´t know where to start. I didn´t like the years when Lego used all those flexible tubes to create the vehicles contour. Why the transparent cylinders? And who thought it would be a great idea to add a turquoise seat to a blue motorcycle. Rubber slip-ons exhaust system?

    Overall:

The Chopper looks much better than the main model. They should´ve made a chopper model witch a bit more details, front and rear suspension as main model. The ugly superbike could be an acceptable second model to build.

I have it to complete my set of all chain driven Lego bikes and somehow I like it. Good to have but not a beauty on your shelf.
