I got my first 870 right after buying a brand new 8860 way back in the day. The idea of being able to add a "live" element to that big black car was overwhelming. It took a while for the concept of RPM reduction to sink in! Once I finally got the idea, nothing in the house was safe. I must have gone through a hundred batteries that summer. Great introductory set that taught a lot about basic motorized engineering concepts.
