Free Pyjamas Emmet with the Daily Mail this Saturday
Posted by Huw,
If you haven't managed to grab a Pyjamas Emmet at an Odeon, you can get one from Toys R Us with a token from the Daily Mail this Saturday.
While on the subject of LEGO in UK newspapers, I was recently contacted by a journalist from The Economist who's been gathering data for an article for publication either in this week's issue or on their website. (Update the article, Empire building, is now live).
Also, many of us in the UK who have a 'LEGO-related business' have been interviewed by a Sunday Times journalist, so expect to see an article in this weekend's issue.
As I've said before, the media world is going LEGO-mad at the moment...

I haven't seen any special (or for free) minifigures in the Netherlands yet.
Only when you buy an expensive magazine it has a boring robot with it.
I hope this wil change very soon.
I have read the article & there is no mention its a sleepy time emmett!! As there is a western emmett poly bag in the wilderness is it not this ? & they have just shown a sleepy time emmett? is there any confirmation?
Where's the article? A TRU employee has confirmed they received Emmet in PJs earlier in the week. Where's the confusion?
hi Huw,
The confusion for me is no where on brick fanatics does it actually say pyjamas emmett & I can find no confirmation from the TRUr employee on their site. The article can be found by login into the daily mail, search lego & click on the emmett picture but again its just referred to as an emmett figure, not which one!?
Huw,
I have since Been in contact with Rose from the Daily Mail promotions team, she informed me it could be any emmett from the The Lego Movie poster and different stores may have different figures!! & you may get a choice!!
I'm taking this with a pinch of salt, but they did not say it was pyjama emmett.
if @clonetrooper02 is correct, there are only two different Emmett Polys, right? (Western and Pj)
@clonetrooper02 - I'd be prepared to bet that the promotions team don't actually know, so stated it could be any figure to prevent complaints due to incorrect information given. They have been relatively clueless about the previous LEGO promotions so it's probably a bit much to expect them to know what the toy figure (which is what most people will class it as) is dressed in!
I'd be surprised if Western Emmett was available, as that's supposedly exclusive to the videogame. Pretty sure it'll be Pyjamas Emmett (at least I hope so, I got two Robot DJs from Odeon!)
This link to the offer shows Emmet in his pyjamas:

Small print says "For collection from Toys R US Saturday 15 February only, one toy per voucher per customer."
Just read the article in The Economist Huw - very interesting :)

^ Cool, thanks. They didn't use much of what I sent them but nevertheless it's good to get a credit there.
@clonetrooper02, a TRU employee emailed me separately last week to say he'd just taken delivery of the PJ version in readiness for the promotion.
can you get the daily mail in the us?
^ I believe you can get it a day or two later (from an importer), but that's of little use due to the fact that you have to take the voucher to a UK Toys R Us store to claim the figure.
I am only interested in Martian Manhunter in March for the Lego orders.
Is this only from Toys r Us?, can you get them from WHsmiths? ;)
My local Odeon claimed to have run out of PJ Emmet (and the other minifig) on the second day of screenings and the nearest Toys r Us is a 40 mile round trip! :-(
I have no idea where the hey a Toys R Us even is. What's wrong with WHSmiths as usual? Ergh.
With newspaper promotions I much prefer collection from TRU than WHSmiths. Whilst the newsagent chain is easier to get to, too many greedy people take advantage and amass huge collections of the free polys, usually to re-sell on fleaBay. TRU typically stick to the one per voucher per customer which means there's more to go around.
Got mine with no problems. Just have to fill in a few personal details on voucher. They even allowed the use of 2 vouchers if you have 2 kids wanting one.
Leicester Toys 'r' us brilliant! I arrived with 2 children and my father. All of us had a voucher and 4 Emmets received (not for resale). Lady stated more to come this week and that she had several boxes for today.
Amazing how different each store can be to customers especially in this day and age!
Wonder what else is in the pipeline for this week from what was mentioned at Leicester store
Anyone interested in selling one of these to me? I totally missed it and my kids love the movie.
Thanks.
