Random minifig of the day: cty1424

Today's random minifigure is cty1424 Lunar Research Astronaut - Male, White and Dark Azure Suit, White Helmet, Metallic Gold Visor, Backpack Clips, Open Mouth Smile, a Town figure that came in one set, 60349 Lunar Space Station, released during 2022.

Our members collectively own a total of 3,077 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $3.20.

This minifigure is surprisingly detailed for City.

Dunno how I missed this figure. Dual-molded arms for City figures is quite rare, so that’s interesting. I like the color scheme, too, but this figure woulda been a heck of a lot better with CHROME. Still, this is a nice City figure.

With the harness for the backpack, it looks like a space-octopod sitting on Mr. Freeze’ head.

The bright blue and orange astronauts from this wave of Space sets are peak. I did not sleep on them and bought every set, including the missions set.

I quite liked the Year of Space, but the Lunar line had a few design-cues I just preferred. I ended up rebuilding several Year of Space-sets to match the more muted Lunar colour-scheme.

And then I added Classic Space people and Blacktron, because you are not the boss of me.

I did like these designs for space suits, still looking protective while not being as clunky as the actually-just-diving-suits that earlier waves got

Sould have just thrown in whole of CMF Series 26. I know, I know, not the boss...
