Oh he's seeing stars alright.

If not for seeing the figure before I saw the set name, I would have expected Star Strike to be a Space set, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You are being hypnotized! You are being hypnotized! You are being hypnotized!

Hypnotist: You know, Racers was a really great theme. Yes, it was.
Star Strike: You are so right, yes it was.

Well... this is certainly one of the minifigures of all time

By in Canada,

I honestly love these little guys.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I used that head for a team of dwarf miners. Looks great with a beard and helm and those crazy goggles.

Drowsy drivers should pull over.

I think his mouth is bigger than his body.

By in Australia,

Wow, so. That's a thing.

Incredible design. Need more of this energy in modern figs, just pure menace.

By in United States,

He looks like a real racist

Same here. If I ever get any of mine out of storage, I might well plunk some Star Wars heads on those bodie and put them in some Microfighters.

By in Canada,

Heh...he 'reaction' mirrors mine seeing him...

Also, people are writing that he look drowsy or hypnotized...I think he looks: surprised, scared, over-caffeinated...or maybe all-of-the-above.:)

Man 2002 must’ve been a year of heavy drug use in Denmark or something.

By in Albania,

Another one that stretches the definition of the minifig

In this case: another one that shrinks the definition of the minifig

By in United Kingdom,

When they say “keep your eyes on the prize” is this what they mean? Or is this what happens to you?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

BTW: I am an anesthesiologist and I never saw someone with this facial expression.

At least it has a traditional minifigure head and headgear.

Did Lego intend their expression to look like they're having PTSD flashbacks?

What are the definitions for a (couple of parts) to be considered a Minifig? Are the helmets of the collectible F1-cars Minifigs?

US government: "Say no to drugs!"

I didn't know that kind of "minifig" existed. Very surprised. I had to read the title RMoTD to be sure that it was it. Now that I have seen the set it came in, I got it. Not a very versatile one I guess.

He's not half the driver he used to be.

I thought the top line was his mustache, but now I see it is his mouth, and the bottom line his chin(?)

Oh hey, had this guy! I remember he and his buddy https://brickset.com/minifigs/rac098 's sets, like 1239 Subzero of the year before, being part of a promotion in Tesco where you could get them free (or maybe just cheap? It's been a while, the specifics elude me...) when you bought a certain amount of Walls Ice Cream products.

As never the kind of kid to say no to free Lego, I definitely convinced my Mum that the promotion was worth going for...!

They were the only Drome Racers sets I owned; and, as others have observed, that theme's facial designs were definitely rather "out there" when they weren't reuses from other themes. Still, these two seem almost normal when compared my favourite example of bizarre Drome Racers faces: https://brickset.com/minifigs/rac103!

I know you're not supposed to explain the joke because it makes it not funny anymore so I'll just answer this cryptically:

Racer.

Gymnast. Pianist. Lyricist.
