Is that when Iron Doom dawns?

One of my least favorite Ninjago seasons. The Ninja suits were cool though.

So if this is Jay's "black armor", what did Cole get?

Very very dark gray.

The ninja suits from this season are among the best IMO.

Got it. Black armor, black armor, black armor, black armor, black armor, less-black armor.

Any idea why the set 70626 is so expensive now? I remembered getting it on discount at TRU back then.

If they discounted it in an attempt to shift something not being bought in high numbers, that suggests not many people own copies. Which means it’ll have scarcity in the aftermarket, so price goes up

Also, it was the only set where one could get the actual villains of the series, not the weird Vermillion snakes. It also came with all four Time Blades and exclusive prints, as well as lots of unique pearl dark grey pieces. I have it and it’s pretty darn cool still today

I own the set because I bought one second-hand in 2017. In my experience it was just quite expensive and the set itself is hit or miss as you get a lot of swamp area and Iron Doom when you might only want the mech. But more importantly, it came with the time twins. And the wave might have been overshadowed by the Lego Ninjago Movie that came out later that year. Also, the season promoting it wasn't great.
I think this all led to the supply of the time twins being shorter than the demand that only kept rising afterwards. Some people collect elemental masters, and maybe they were late to getting it.
Even the Iron Doom itself is probably wanted by fans now, as it was pivotal to the story and the most memorable thing to come out of the season beside the time twins.

Ninjago actually also has a few sets where the minifigs became super expensive because the set they came in was large and therefore sold less of. Figures like Samukai, Pythor (2012), Pythor (2016), the Overlord (2014), Killow and Akita were some that drove up the prices of the sets they came in, just to name a few.
Even in this same wave you have Samurai X and the now very inflated Samurai X car set.
