Review: 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder

Posted by ,

Although no two designs have been completely identical, the various LEGO Snowspeeders have altered little over time. 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder introduces some updates though, beyond its fiery colours, including a new canopy element and revised armour.

The shaping looks better than ever to me and I like the distinctive livery as well, albeit relying heavily on stickers. Moreover, the three minifigures are appealing for Rebuild the Galaxy fans, including both main characters and the villain of season two, but the price is a problem.

Summary

75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder, 349 pieces.
£44.99 / $54.99 / €49.99 | 12.9p / 15.8c / 14.3c per piece.

The Force Burner is probably the best Snowspeeder yet, though vastly overpriced

  • Improved Snowspeeder design
  • Clever deployable speeder bike
  • Great new canopy
  • Detailed minifigures
  • Quite reliant on stickers
  • Severely overpriced

Minifigures

Sig Greebling has been training as a Jedi since Rebuild the Galaxy season one and his garb has been updated accordingly, now more closely resembling Jedi robes. The belt clip for Sig's lightsaber and other minor details look good, while the dark green neckerchief returns from the prior Sig Greebling minifigure, which is a nice addition.

In time-honoured fashion, the sinister Darth Dev has started to move away from the Dark Side between seasons and only parts of his original Sith armour remain, such as the knee pads and belt. The details on the torso in particular look superb and I like the decorated arm, which works perfectly with the metallic silver section of the torso.

Dev's double-sided head illustrates his conflict, with an angry Dark Side expression on one side and a calmer design on the other. Sig, meanwhile, displays happy and sad expressions, but his most notable feature is probably the exclusive orange lightsaber. I assume this trans-orange 4L bar will return in any future sets containing Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati.

Solitus is appropriately dressed for his role as the villain in season two, wearing the traditional black cloak and hood. These complement his pearl dark grey and sand blue robes, striking the balance between evil and refinement expected from the Sith. Moreover, a new Duros head is a neat inclusion and particularly a sand green one, as only blue-skinned Duros have appeared as minifigures before.

Star Wars villains often introduce new lightsaber types and Solitus is no exception, armed with two chain-linked purple lightsabers! The design seems impractical, even assuming the chain is made from a lightsaber-resistant material, but I suppose such unorthodox weapons might catch a Jedi unawares.

The Completed Model

STAPs have appeared three times in 2025 and none share the same design, which strikes me as strange. Regardless, this edition looks great, accurately capturing the curved armour shape and other necessary features, such as the laser cannons, engines and fins. In fact, the engines have never looked better on a minifigure-scale STAP, fitted tightly against the body.

There is something quite undignified about riding an STAP, so it seems ill-suited to Solitus, but another vehicle is certainly welcome for play. Additionally, the speeder is nicely proportioned to attach a minifigure, featuring proper handlebars.

T-47 airspeeders have already been shown to be very adaptable, whether to the cold with the famous Snowspeeder or the Jakku desert with 75204 Sandspeeder. The vibrant Force Burner takes inspiration from classic hot rods and presumably reaches higher speeds than the normal T-47, hence the need for a stunning fiery paint job!

This vehicle is a bit more compact than 75259 Snowspeeder - 20th Anniversary Edition, which was released in 2019. The difference is small, only a centimetre in length and width, but marks an interesting update because each minifigure-scale Snowspeeder released from 2004 to 2019 made only marginal adjustments from its precursor, using new wedge plates on the wings and stud shooters for the harpoon launcher, for instance.

75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder is totally different, however. The angular armour on the front is divided between the fuselage and the wings, which recreates their integration onscreen, though this shape is not ideal because the leading edges of the wings are too pronounced. I am satisfied with the design as a step in the right direction, nonetheless.

In addition, I like how the laser cannons are assembled and the trans-orange highlights on the power convertors are a neat touch. The combination of yellow, flame yellowish orange, orange and red elements is also effective, eventually giving way to black towards the rear. The number of stickers is slightly disappointing though, as I think brick-built flames would have sufficed.

The new canopy element is notable, perhaps consigning the canopy created for Star Wars sets in 1999 to history. The component was brilliantly designed to work for the X-wing, the Y-wing or the Snowspeeder in 1999 and it performed admirably for many years, but fans tend to expect a greater level of accuracy today, hence the need for a new canopy. Also, the dual-moulded black and yellow colours are likely to appeal to Blacktron fans, which is a bonus.

Sig and Dev are seated back-to-back inside, as in the original Snowspeeder. However, there is more room between the figures than usual because Dev's seat can be deployed as a separate speeder bike, attached to the yellow 4L bar in the middle of the cockpit. There are also various printed consoles around the pilot, plus clips for their lightsabers on the underside.

A stud shooter takes the place of the harpoon gun on the back and the huge radiator fins found on the Snowspeeder are gone, replaced with black 1x2 grille tiles and a 1x2 ingot. The steering vanes on the speeder bike look awkward underneath, but there is not enough space for them to fold up and I think this configuration works on a 'silly' vehicle.

The speeder bike is only connected by a single clip, but still feels secure until you are ready to detach this speeder. Of course, this leaves a hollow space inside the Force Burner, but it looks completely fine from the exterior.

Naturally, the speeder bike shares the Force Burner's flaming livery, with more stickers on the steering vanes. Personally, I dislike the chunky rear section and the flat back, but the model is unusual, which I welcome given the number of similar LEGO speeders. Also, the clip that holds the bike inside the Snowspeeder helpfully doubles as storage for a lightsaber.

Overall

While I enjoyed the second season of Rebuild the Galaxy, I am more interested in 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder as a sign of how LEGO Snowspeeders are advancing and I think this model bodes well in that regard. The new canopy looks excellent and the overall shape is much improved too.

Unfortunately, extremely high prices are a defining feature of LEGO Star Wars in 2025 and the Force Burner suffers as well, costing £44.99, $54.99 or €49.99. While the vehicles and figures are well executed, that feels way too expensive and I would only consider the purchase with a substantial discount of around 30%.

By in United States,

I foresee a lot of Blacktron MOD's of this set in the future, and I eagerly await them. Also, as a side note: those two yellow 3x3 slopes haven't been seen since 1980's Inter-city Passenger Train!

Jokes aside, that canopy is great and we need a traditional Snowspeeder with it ASAP.

Let's make a Christmas Snowspeeder, an Octan Snowspeeder, a Ferrari Snowspeeder, a Pink Snowspeeder, or an Easter Bunny Snowspeeder... please, someone stop this craziness.

Directly below this comment section in the “Related Articles” area, the Gingerbread AT-AT appears for me, and it just drives home the INSANITY of this price even more. How is it that we’ve ended up with that AT-AT - arguably one of the *best* value Star Wars sets in years - and then *this*, one of the *WORST* value Star Wars sets *EVER* - in the same damn year?!

Lego, like, I know it’s a meme at this point, but *Christ almighty*, it’s a little screwy out here in the US right now for many, many reasons. Bananas cost 28% more than they used to. They have gone from 39 cents a pound to now 54 cents a pound. I need my money for bananas. How in the hell are you planning to get my banana money at *fifteen cents a frikken piece*?!

One piece in this set costs the ENTIRE price hike on bananas! YOU are bananas!

I substituted Trans Neon Orange laser cannons for the Dark Stone Grey.
It looks awesome.

Edit: of course; Trans Neon Orange is the epitome of awseome!
Bring back Trans Neon Orange!

I don't understand this comment. Isn't the point of being an AFOL to be imaginative - to let your inner child be whimsical / curious / creative once more? Or are you saying you are a total Lord Business-type, and everything must be 'just so' and according to the instructions forever? If so, you need to loosen up and let everyone be themselves without you being angry they aren't like you!

I, for one, adore Rebuild the Galaxy and the sets that go with it and I'm far older than the target audience. It's a not-so-serious look at the SW galaxy, and it goes well with the official LEGO philosophy of Rebuild the World.

By in Spain,

I bought this because the local toy store had it at 25% off. I wasn't really planning to buy it, but I was weak.

It is sort of a fun set, but I don't like the speeder part. I'd rather have a more solid one. If the speeder is out, it is a bit 'not solid'.
And the stickers were really bad, but at least the colour match (black on black was good).

And... Sorry, but even for 25% off, this was not good value. It did feel a bit underwhelming.

Christmas? Sure, why not? We did get 40806, after all.
Octan? This might be harder to get past Disney (mixing trademarks), but sure, it'd be fun?
Ferrari? I doubt Ferrari S.p.A. would go for it, but a red (because it goes faster) speeder would be cool.
Pink? That would be a perfect fit for this Lego series - an inversion of the hidden pink bricks, so we'd get hidden light grey bricks.
Easter Bunny? Eh, ok, you're probably right on this one, it'd be a bit too much.

For historical accuracy, we'd also need a light grey and trans green canopy, and a white and trans blue canopy, since classic space never had one color scheme, it had 4-5.

That said, I'd love it if Lego did another (probably smaller this time) classic space set using one of the other color schemes used back then.

Like we don't have enough loud mouth, attention-seeking, schtick-slopping dorks in the LAN already??!! (palms face)

If Guy joins the community, I'm out for good.

This set shares the common thread of recent SW sets where the price is insultingly aggressive. This set didn't just call my mother fat. It mocked her cooking, too.

Only one fig here is interesting- Two Chainz. The ship gimmick is fun, but such non-canon silliness is worthy of price reduction, not inflation. Thus, I will be skipping this set unless it reaches at least 50% off.

The Dev figure does illustrate Lego's continuous hypocrisy concerning its precious design language. They've ruined so many figs lately with spaced-out, soulless, pupil-less fever (Emporer, Darth Maul, etc.), but they don't have the balls to do that with their precious Dev because they know it will render him an expressionless moof milker. They can't do that for a television show. People would reject suck abject stupidity. Bring back expression. Bring back fun. Why do Star Wars Lego designers have to ruin everything??!!

Jaxxon piloting a easter bunny snowspeeder sounds like something Lego would do - he IS in Rebuild the Galaxy after all!

I love this and just as soon as it's 30% off, I'll consider getting it! And for any Blacktron fans, that canopy certainly holds some promise... Also: saber-chucks, yo.

By in Austria,

Sig's scarf being printed instead of a neck accessory really screws with people like me who want to re-use the torso/leg combo for custom Jedi.

great set overall, but I'll wait until it drops below 30 before I buy it.

By in Netherlands,

The deployable speeder is something I adore!!!
It feels so long ago since we had something like that in a spaceship (this isn't one, but close enough). In fact, it reminds me of some of the more awesome play features of he original Star Wars sets. Vehicles that deploy smaller vehicles are just plain fun.
Love it.
