Disney Advent Calendar - Day 7

Posted by ,

Yesterday brought us a sleigh for Olaf to ride, and provided confirmation (to me, at least) that this calendar is based on Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Some earlier builds make more sense, like the gingerbread castle in Day 2 - it's seen at the beginning of the film. It should be fun to see how the rest of the builds are connected to the film.

As we round out the first week, let's see what connection we find today.

Of course, it figures - the one build that doesn't have anything to do with the film! This is the spinner to be used for the board game. The rounded edge shows that it can be spun like a dreidl so that one colour comes up top. I'm not very sure about the rules for the board game, but in my epxeirence with the target demographic, they're very good at making up their own rules!

This is a needed build for the game, but unless one gets to playing the game right away, it doesn't have much play value.

Spin and your fate will be decided - the Dreaded One.

I mean, the intended rules are pretty obvious - you go to the color indicated, Candyland style. But as you indicate, plenty of kids will make up their own.

Don't you mean "The dreideled one?"

"... like a dreidl." I misread that and had an image of R2D2 break-dancing.

I believe the rules for the two HPACs that featured games were posted online somewhere, so as to not risk spoiling more of the calendar's content than the box art already did.

Oh, it's... a way for me to connect this set to the "Hidden Side" app. Thank you? You shouldn't have? You shouldn't have. I wish you hadn't.

I feel like each of the colours is patterned off one of the main characters; the dark blue for Kristoff to match his hat, purple for Anna to match her cloak, light blue for Elsa for the dress and orange for Olaf for his carrot nose

"This is not the dreidel you're looking for."

Ah, so it is a piece for playing a board game.

Didn’t Bender just make that up to get out of 6-1/2 weeks of work?
