Disney Advent Calendar - Day 11
Posted by MeganL,We have a fully decorated hearth thanks to yesterday's build, though personally I think it would have been nice to have the hearth and decorations all in one day, like the Friends hearth.
Regardless, as we open the door to Day 11, I expect we'll find another build to set the scene of our board game.
It's a musical day today, with two musical instruments behind the door. I believe this is referencing one of the families' traditions that Olaf discovers. One of the families makes music, the father is seen playing an accordion type of instrument, which explains the first instrument.
However, I don't remember seeing anyone play a saxophone (which is lying on its side as I couldn't find another way to photograph it!) in the film. Olaf does play a clarinet, but that is distinctly different from a saxophone!
Not much in the way of building today, but it's nice to see another connection to the movie.

I saw that accordion and Weird al's "Polka Power!" started playing in my head. Not sure why that particular medley, but I can't think about accordions without thinking about Weird Al.

I love Wierd Al, but the undisputed Polka King is Frank Yakovic.

Yep. Weird Al Battlepack, I can dig it.
I was thinking David Eugene Edwards from 16 Horsepower and Woven Hand, but he plays concertina, not accordion. And while similar, that is still distinctly different.
But hey, Frank Morris approves of this set!
And if the keyboard print is backwards, it’s the builder’s fault this time.

I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
