Friends Advent Calendar - Day 7
Posted by MeganL,The last two days have featured Liann and her gecko Popcorn. If we consider the pattern at the beginning of the pattern - a Friend, their pet, and then a piece of furniture - it may be a safe assumption that the next build will be another piece of furniture to help fill out the living room. After all, that couch will be quite crowded with only the Friends and pets we've seen so far.
A piece of furniture this is, but I think this is supposed to indicate one of Liann's interests, as she's the artist of the group. Clearly, she's been spending time near the Christmas tree, as that's the painting that's in progress for the easel. I like that paint brush has been included and it even matches one of the colours on the painting.
A tray with a paint container and a mug is close by. I hope Liann doesn't get confused as to where she's putting her brush while she's painting!

We don't have anything but happy trees. Nothing worse than an unhappy tree.
That's actually really lovely.
Actually really like the minimalism used to create the tree there
"ORANGE! He's ORANGE, Autumn!"
Maybe the mug is filled with water so that she can clean her paintbrush from the (green) acrylic paint. Thus there is no way she might be confused to put it in the color jar or in the mug ;)

One of the kids at my church's Vacation Bible School was painting something in a crafts activity and eating a lollipop (or maybe it was a popsicle). At one point, he licked the paintbrush instead of the lollipop.

That’s what I was thinking! Painters often have a cup or jar of water to quickly cleanse their brushtip, right? This feels just like that. The attention to detail with that really elevates this minibuild for me! :)

Bah! Old school painters used to lick the brush tip to put a point on it. Although I think that stopped when people started getting radiation sickness from GitD paint on watch dials.
Aw this is lovely
I actually really like this build.
I'm getting Bob Ross vibes, here. Certainly a different way to incorporate a Christmas Tree into the calendar.
This is a surprisingly lovely build! The Medium Nougat and Green shades work wonderfully here. Probably the best build that isn’t a minifigure so far. I’ll be surprised also if it gets eclipsed.
For an unknown reason, I love that tree!
A nice mixture of the character trait and the Season.

The same gag shows up in Ronnie Barker's film "Futtock's End" -- an artist is painting and the butler brings him a mug of beer. He puts his brush in the beer and drinks the painting water with every sign of enjoyment.

Yeah, when I saw it, I thought, "Well, this is the most unusual AC Christmas tree yet, isn't it?" After all, it's the first 2d one, if you don't count ones printed on shirts or sweaters.
Nice minibuild today. The Friends calender has some greats again :)
And from all of us here I'd like to wish you happy painting, and God bless, my Friends.

SWAC has had an astromech and a moisture vaporator.
Happy little tree keep on.

Which were still three-dimensional, so had that in common with every other AC Christmas tree.

Yeah, but this one is non-mechanical, and largely plant-based.
