Friends Advent Calendar - Day 8
Posted by MeganL,The first week of the calendar has brought us two Friends and their pets, and some furnishings and some activities for the Friends, finishing with the charming happy little tree painting yesterday. My one complaint is that there isn't much in the way of festive builds, with the exception of the Friends' pajamas.
As we start the second week of the calendar, I expect we'll be meeting some of the other Friends soon.
We will meet more Friends, but not today! Today's build is a hearth that's a pretty straightforward build. The flame looks absolutely enormous for the size of the hearth - but at least the Friends will be warm.
I'm happy that there's some festive greenery on the top of the hearth - something that shows what the season is! I'm particularly happy with the use of the red heart pieces for some nice accents.

Hearts doubling as berries is a fun idea, works quite well

... and we immediately cut to two hearts being roasted over an open fire.
That's dark, even for *us*.
Mmmm, strawberries! Best eaten in winter!

And here I thought Fabuland was Lego's darkest ever theme. But now Friends shows their true colors.....

Is that what they mean by “chest nuts”?
