Friends Advent Calendar - Day 10

Posted by ,

We're getting into the festive swing of things, with some nice holiday builds over the last two days. What are the odds that we'll make it three in a row?

Well, we're almost there. It was time to meet another Friend, so today Leo joins the party. Like the others, he has festive pyjamas, and his fun print has a gingerbread couple sharing a candy cane. I love these holiday prints on the Friends this year!

Leo of course comes with a sleeping bag, so nobody's going to have to sleep on the floor. Though they're going to be running out of room on that couch soon!

By in Australia,

Thank goodness Leo survived the roasting-hearts-massacre from the last two days.

I wonder if the others were as lucky?

That Gingerbread print is cute.

And Leo brings with him... a giant toe.

I have questions. I'm not sure I want answers.

So…kids have coed sleepovers in Denmark?

At this point, "Look, don't touch" shouldn't be a thing also.

I keep loving that we get a whole build to go with the full-sized minidoll in the same day :)

I can only recall three adult minidolls appearing in over a decade of FACs. One of those was Mrs. Claus (I can’t even remember if Santa was part of that same calendar), and the other was a flashback to when one of the then-current main characters was younger and both of her parents were still alive (one of them, I think maybe the dad, was canonically deceased at that point in the main timeline).

"Festive spirit not included in box. It was available as a GWP only if purchased in the first five-day window from a licensed Lego brand retailer."

No, I think it was the mom that was deceased, and we had both parents in that Advent Calendar. We've also had both Clauses in FACs.

Okay, the Clauses were easy to track down. The issue appears to be that Mrs. Claus showed up in 41420 (along with two elves, who may or may not be adults themselves), while Santa Claus didn't arrive until two years later in 41706. Mrs. Claus stands out because she's the first instance of that character appearing in any LEGO AC (since then she's become a regular feature in the CAC). She's not the first instance of the character in a LEGO set, though. 10245 was the first set to pair the couple, plus there's the green Mrs. Claus that was available through BAM one year.

For the family, that was last year's FAC that was a flashback to Paisley's adolescence. Her parents (Jonathan and Rose) both appeared in that calendar, and it was the comments on Rose' appearance that revealed she was the parent who had passed away before the present-day timeline of the 2024 sets. I don't see any evidence in the builds themselves, but the commenter suggested that a third child (who isn't included) had already been born, and that the 2024 FAC might be the family's last Christmas together.

Well, that explains the hearts from the last two days.

We certainly did when I was young. Then again, we're not in Denmark, so how would I know what they're up to :-)
But we also did when we were in the UK, so there's that.

Don't you have them in the US?

Sometimes a youth group might hold a lock-in, which is a massive sleepover, usually held at a school or a church, and always chaperoned (also, gender segregation is strictly enforced). For a sleepover held at someone's house, it would really depend on how permissive the hosting parents are, as well as the parents of the other kids (alternately, they might be deceived about the nature of the sleepover). But normally sleepovers would be only boys or only girls.

By in Germany,

@PurpleDave: I guess it depends on the kind of kids (and their age).
I think the parents in Heartlake City won't have to worry. After all, their world seems so sanitized, one wonders how they have kids at all.
Maybe when they want to have kids, they just order them on Bricklink ;-)

On the one hand, their clothes are just painted on. On the other hand, they're not removable.

That's ridiculous! ...They order them on PaB. That way, they can be sure they're not used being passed off as new.

ROFL
That was a good one.
