Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 7

Posted by ,

I think yesterday's model of a Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans box showed some promise in this Harry Potter Advent Calendar, though it will take more to turn things around.

Hopefully day seven will oblige...

76456 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar 2025 is really rushing through the minifigures and Draco Malfoy is our third. Draco is typically chosen to represent Slytherin and understandably so, but like Cho Chang a couple of days ago, a little more character variety would be ideal.

The green Slytherin jumper is similar to those worn by Harry and Cho, featuring a silhouetted Hogwarts Castle and rows of trees on each side of the torso. However, a Grindylow takes the central position on this occasion, dressed in a Santa hat. That seems like a suitable choice for Slytherin, as an inherently aggressive and often unpleasant creature.

This double-sided head works for Draco Malfoy, although a new design would be appreciated because the same part has now appeared twelve times. This black wand is necessary though, always accompanying Draco.

Overall - I like Draco Malfoy's new jumper, matching other minifigures in this Advent Calendar.

I’ve also recently seen a claim that Gryffindor represents fire, Hufflepuff is earth, Ravenclaw for air, and Slytherin would be water, so that kinda works with at least the Cornish Pixie and Grindylow. Not sure it really works for the owl, but other than the various dragons, I’m not sure what would.

Could go with a phoenix? Then they even get to keep the bird theme

Could, and the only phoenix we saw was owned by a Gryffindor, but I don’t see them giving Harry someone else’s bird.

I saw one somewhere that linked them up with an adventuring party. IIRC, Gryffindor was the fighter, Slytherin was the rogue, Ravenclaw was the wizard, and Hufflepuff was the bard.

By in Netherlands,

I like how the sweaters are matching but indeed, anyone else would have been more interesting, even though Draco is the face of Slytherin in the books and films.

When's the last crabbe and goyle from year 1 been?

They kinda stopped including one of them when the actor got arrested on drug charges or something. The other one might have been the set with the dragon made of fire, since he’s the one who cast that spell. I think that one just retired a while back.

Yes. The actor who played Crabb was arrested, and then he was replaced as a Draco henchmen by Blaise Zabini. Goyle, the one who did cast the fire spell (and died because of it), was weirdly omitted from that set.

Maybe he was already dead by the time the set happened?

That would be @LEGO’s excuse to exclude him.

Well, explaining the real truth wouldn't exactly be the most family-friendly answer they could give, would it?
