Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 11
Posted by CapnRex101,Following two days of underwhelming scenery, we are definitely due for another minifigure or perhaps a brick-built droid today, which should mean a step in the right direction.
Find out below...
I looked briefly at the contents of this Advent Calendar when it was announced and two items stood out. One was Babu Frik and the other was B2EMO, the delightful droid featured in both seasons of Andor! I am very happy to see this character represented in LEGO form and I think Bee translates well, even if the figure is a bit squat.
The droid consists entirely of standard elements, which I think looks splendid. The dark bluish grey bands correspond with B2EMO onscreen and the trans-red photoreceptor is effective too. The only inaccuracy is the inclusion of yellow accents on both treads, when only the right tread should actually have a yellow panel.
I was keen to unite B2EMO with Cassian Andor from 75338 Ambush on Ferrix and indeed the duo look superb together. I hope we receive some more Ferrixian heroes to join them.
Overall - B2EMO looks fantastic and this is the best day of the Star Wars Advent Calendar so far, for me. Stone and sky!

Lois: "I stopped making decisions for this family when you bought that Roomba to replace me."
[A Roomba enters the kitchen.]
Roomba: "Living room complete."
Chris: "Thank you, Roomba."
[Lois runs up to the Roomba.]
Lois: "[Blustering] YOU'LL NEVER BE THEIR MOTHER!"
Disney: 3.5/5p
Friends: 3.5/5p
Minecraft: I don't see the house in this... At least there's a jack-o'-lantern next to it, again. 2/5p
Harry Potter: This is a cute frog. Or a cute chocolate frog. 4.5/5p
Star Wars: Iron Man, what happened to you? 4/5p
I got so excited when I opened this today. I had no clue we were getting B2EMO. LEGO, give us more Andor sets dang it!
Today I got a different droid... I wonder if this guy shows up later in my calendar, too.
I know next to nothing about the character (other than the fact that he stutters like D-O), but he looks really cute; glad we finally got a minifig of him. If somebody would like to explain to me what his deal is, I’m all ears.
Day 11:
0 points (+ 17) from yesterday = 17): MC - A piece of fence in the snow? Only for die-hard Minecraft fans.
1 (+ 26 = 27): Fr - Okay accessories. But can we please replace one of the plates with a cup or something?
2 (+ 19 = 21): Dy - How can you not be happy when you get an accordeon?
3 (+28 = 31): Ct - Cat fits, cat sits!
4 (+28 = 32): HP - Truly, the frog has some personality.
5 (+31 = 36): SW - B2EMO makes an overall good impression, though the sensor appears to stand out a bit too far. I'd have chosen a tile instead of a stud.
EDIT corrected an arithmetic error. Thanks @Schmopiesdad and @CommanderR3x!

I enjoy reading your scoring as much or more than some of the reveals, but shouldn't HP's score be 32?

HP should have 32 not 34.
This is honestly the best droid so far.

He’s simultaneously the aged family dog but also the youngest child; someone innocent who genuinely doesn’t seem to get the concept of death, doesn’t understand why they aren’t going to see their favourite person again or why their routine seems to have suddenly changed so much
It took me a second to realize this wasn't a Mustafar lava droid, but I'm glad to see something from Andor. I should really get around to watching the second season sometime.

You absolutely should!

I second that
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Excellent model and excellent choice of subject matter. Excellence all around today!
Very delightful and adorable. Faithful recreation. A definite highlight of the calendar! Oh, and excellent TV series, too!

Hulk smash?
Highlight of the calendar so far, by a longshot.

He B 2 EMO.
like several among our number, I was rapidly losing faith with the overall quality of this year's SWAC, but today has gone some way to restoring matters
What a way to recover from the last few days.
For the first time since starting this Advent calendar I am truly impressed with today's offering.
But to quote Major Partagaz: "Calibrate your enthusiasm."
I'm a lot less enthusiastic about this one than the rest of the comments so far. For me, the issue is that the treads stick out so much farther than on B2EMO's actual design, I didn't even recognize it at first. B2EMO is probably just too small to really do justice to at minifig scale without a custom mold or two. I think you'd probably have to jump up to around Brickheadz scale to do a good brick-built B2EMO.
It's still better than day 9, of course.

Yeah... I like GETTING a B2EMO in the calendar and this isn't a terrible rendition, but it looks a bit "first drafty." Not that I have a better suggestion in mind, but it's a bit of a brick blob if you don't already know the droid.
I’ve already noted I’m apparently (much) happier with this AC than with most of the sour lot here, but I agree dear, sweet B is a major highlight thus far.
Now, this is podracing!!
I didn't have any real interest in Watching Andor when it first came out (I only bought 75338 because Lego had some kind of deal (sale or double points, can't remember which) on it, but the more I hear about it, the more interested I become in watching it; I'm going to start doing that soon. As for the model itself, I wouldn't have known it was a droid if it hadn't come in this calendar, but I can still sort of picture what the droid looks like in the series.

As a Weird Al fan, I can't not be happy, but I can be unhappy with your misspelling; it's "accordion." (I'm not usually one to go around correcting grammar and misspellings on the Internet, but I felt honor-bound to do so in this case.)
