The Ninjago movie character designs are over hated honestly.

I enjoyed the LEGO Ninjago Movie and we got some great sets and figs from it - there, I said it.

That could make for a cool Blacktron 2 officer.

Except that they made Zane an archer instead of his shurikens and gave Cole a hammer instead of a scythe.

While I consider TLNM the weakest of the four theatrical Lego movies, I enjoyed it, and there are some TLNM sets that I regret not getting.

The Ninjago Movie's greatest flaw was that it had too many people expecting it to be like the show(understandably so). The movie on its own had some incredibly funny scenes although certain casting choices pained me because they sounded like idiots and their personalities were so different. Again, best to view it entirely separate. While I remember disliking the redesigns, they have certainly grown on me for the most part. I still miss the versatility of the old faces, but I generally don't mind the new ones. I think the ginger erasure and Kai's constant band-aid bother me the most. Zane luckily was toned down after the movie so he didn't look creepy.

On to the figure itself, I didn't mind the new suits, but I didn't find them that special. I was interested in the new masks although I preferred older versions. Also, I disliked that they switched Zane's shurikens to a bow.

The worst Zane minifigure, by far - if only because its existence heralded the completely unnecessary and absolutely horrible "redesigns" (read: copy-and-pasted designs from the movie, to help supposed "new fans" get into the show) in the show, almost single-handedly killing my love for Ninjago. My brothers and I stuck with it through Crystalized, but we finally threw in the towel when Dragons Rising started.

Zane in TLNM wasn't great, either. They leaned way too hard into the robot thing, and that became his entire character: "the robot one". It was boring and not funny, like the rest of the movie (for the most part; Garmadon was good, at least). I always assumed they switched from shurikens to a bow (and Cole's scythe to a hammer) so the Ninja would have more "realistic" weapons, which made sense in the context of the movie's universe. Luckily the bow wasn't ported into the show, although the hammer was.
