Random minifig of the day: bat016

Posted by ,

Today's random minifigure is bat016 Scarecrow - Glow in the Dark Head, a Batman I figure that was first produced during 2006. It can be found in 2 sets.

Our members collectively own a total of 7,640 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $110.70.

Nearly bought that Batcopter set back in the day.
Wish I had, this is a modern classic fig.

And again, I posit that TLBM Scarecrow is the best Scarecrow.

Picked up that Arkham set for $40 on sale at lego store. When better versions came out, I turned it into a Azkaban prison.

Good version of scarecrow and othe characters

The original Batman line was so cool, I wish I'd gotten some of them back when they were available.

Got this with the 7785 Arkham Asylum set. Such a great set! One of my favourite minifigs and still glows in the dark! Love that set and everything about it!!!

I wish I'd gotten it, too.

By in United Kingdom,

Only been, what, just shy of three weeks since the last version of this guy showed up. Clearly didn’t get locked up well enough if he’s back already!

I remember I was in Munich in 2006 when I randomly went into a department store and they had the OG Batman line and most were on sale. The Batcave was €33!! I spent quite a bit picking up as many sets as I could, the Batcopter set was one and ended up importing Arkham Asylum to complete the range so have two of these. A bargain considering how much he is going for now...

One of my favorite minifigures of all time. Also my favorite Batman villain!

'Be afraid, be very afraid...'

(yes, i know that's not a Scarecrow quote, but it works just fine regardless!)

7785 was a 2006 release, but 7786 didn’t come out until the following year.

The translucent glow-in-the-dark head arguably makes even less sense for a character with a burlap sack on his head than it did for not-abnormally-pale Snape, but I know I never questioned it at the time.

Ah thanks for clarifying - I knew I got one in 2006! Should have checked the sets before I posted, d'oh...

Arkham doesn't have the best track record when it comes to making sure inmates stay where they're supposed to.

I mean, there’s a burlap-style material that’s made of plastic, and you could then use GitD plastic to make the material, so it _could_ work.

@LDN:
While there were villains who were repeated over the three-year run, I think Batman was the only character to get multiple different minifigs, or multiple copies of the same minifig, in the same year. Oddly, he’s also the only character who got multiple copies of the same minifig (excluding accessories or Robin’s haircut), but only within the same release wave. There were four Batsuits, plus the Bruce Wayne minifig, and each was exclusive to a single year.

I have this minifigure in my display collection. I got it around the time the sets it came in were current. I don’t recall it being at all expensive and had no idea until today what it’s worth now :~O
