He's an angry knight.
"Grrr"
From 'Random Minifig of the Day' to 'Random Figure of the Day'. Must be deliberate to quell discourse about minidolls, brick-built droidekas, and Scala/Belville abominations. Perhaps Duplo will be featured as well?
Very different from yesterday's armored guy.
When the siege weapon being sent to attack you is larger than the fortification you've been tasked with defending, it doesn't bode well for your future.
My favorite knight from this era was the "grizzled old veteran".
Dracus before he became a Rogue Knight.

What's funny is that this applies to both sets that this guy was in. At least he got to be on the offensive side in one of them.

In a foul mood, so a dark and stormy knight

"... and your mother was a hamster!"
Literally biting his tongue if he had one.

"And your father smelt of elderberries! Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!"

Or after, when both factions united against the unquiet dead left by their conflict...
There was a mysterious sorcerer from the Knights' Kingdom cards who I don't believe was ever followed up on. Maybe that was Mallock the Malign from Fantasy-Era Castle.

Well, they’re fighting reanimated skeletons, so after they’ve flensed the flesh off of his bones, maybe he showed up in a third set?

So the knight in one of the sets was his twin brother?
Fantasy Era was just so great.
"Scar across lip" yes but will he sweep the leg?

The Castle fantasy era was such an imaginative subtheme - I'm so glad they included nods to it in 21348.
