Before I read the description, I thought this was from 40516. Looking at that set now, though, I see that has a black figure and a white figure, but no figures in any shade of gray.

I think so? This was the first official monochrome minifig that I was aware of, because I hadn't even thought of the figurehead on the first Black Pearl (and I wasn't even aware of the miniquin statue that appeared in a minifig-era Town set). The other one that came out this same year was the solid red VIP minifig.

This Millennial grey decorating trend has just gone a bit to far!

What a stone-faced expression he has.

It's supposed to be of Dr. Jeremiah Arkham. Though it would be unsurprising if thanks to one of the villains he was turned to stone or entombed within the statue himself.

This fig is gray and has a picture. Checks out.

Says its a statue but I could absolutely see Grey Man or Stone Man or Blank Man being a Batman villain. Even if just an Adam West one

By in New Zealand,

He could easily take Batman. If he stands under the statue that is.

"All of us in 2025", the minifigure.

By in Germany,

It depicts one man on a lonely platform, one case sitting by his side...

Greek statues were painted, but modern statues done in the Greek style are always natural stone because that’s all that really remains of most ancient statuary.

I disagree, because the statue has one too many dimensions.

Batman along with the rest of the Justice League and the Creeper, encountered the Grey Man in Justice League 5, 6 and Justice League International 7 in 1987.

@kdu2814 : Totally remember that story-arc, even one my favorite moments/conversations; Batman and Mister Miracle are on Blue Beetle's 'Bug', MM rigs the power-grid of the city that their defending to deliver a mega-jolt to the Grey Man:
Batman: "Is this going work?"
MM: "If it doesn't, I'll eat my mask."
(Triggers the weapon; hits Grey Man, severely burns him, but he's still attacking)
Bats: "How would you that prepared?"
MM: "Sautéed with a mild cheese sauce...":D

This set was released before that one. I myself thought it was one from that random set with a pool on it they did, but the statues in that set are white. In fact, the Rivendell statue has become the default statue print, and the only thing that changes is the hairpiece, and occasionally, ironically enough on the new Arkham set, the face.

The statues I’m thinking of didn’t count as monofigs because one of them had dark-bley hands on a light-bley torso, and the other mixed mixed a drum lacquered fire helmet with pearl body parts. So different greys on one, and different golds on the other. And the Space Police and Rivendell statues don’t count unless you wipe all the prints. There’s an old Town set that had a solid black miniquin as a statue in a minifig-based set. The first Black Pearl had a solid black figurehead. This came in one version of Arkham. The VIP card had a bald red one. The entire Everyone is Awesome set was monofigs. There’s a gold one from Harry Potter (first HPAC maybe?)zl. And the One Piece restaurant has a mermaid. There may have been a few others, but getting 100% the same color including hands and accessories, with zero prints, is still fairly rare outside of that one EiA set that accounts for around half of them.

@TheOtherMike:
The print disqualifies it from being a true monofig, it only covers the front of the torso so it looks weird, and it was highly specialized due to the Classic Space logo. But I did buy a loose one on BL, which sits on top of my fridge, because I’m not a monster.
