Star Wars Advent Calendar Review: Day 6

Happy weapons rack day!
If you have festive music to play, now is the time. LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendars always include at least one gun rack and we have had some real classics in the past. Who could forget this 'delight' from 2013, or the incredible lightsaber holder from 2012?
This is our first gift based on the Forest Moon of Endor and it clearly conveys its origins with a drum in the centre surrounded by a bow and arrow, some foliage and an ion blaster for the Jawa from day four. It is nice to have some equipment for the minifigures and this is a decent piece of scenery, but I would much prefer a mini model or minifigure instead. There are plenty of vehicles which have yet to be recreated at this scale, so perhaps next year we will see some more of those and no more weapons racks.
I make that same statement every year and it has not worked yet, but I remain hopeful.
Overall - 2.5 - This is one of the better gun rack models included in a Star Wars Advent Calendar and the plant element is always welcome, but I still object to their existence.

As far as lame Star Wars weapons racks go, I've seen worse. In terms of what we've gotten before:
- 2011: We had two: Chewie's barrel (which could work as an accessory for that year's MF) and a post holding guns and Yoda's lightsaber. The former wasn't bad, but the latter was just some lame bricks that didn't look like anything.
- 2012: Yech--that lightsaber rack. Mercifully, that was the ONLY rack for that year.
- 2013: Again, we got two: a gun rack that didn't look like anything, and the Geonosian rack that at least looked like it came off its planetary namesake.
- 2014: Depending on how you want to argue it, we either got two or three. One was a little rack with a Clone helmet that at least looked a vignette from a Republic base or ship. Another was a fireplace with two lightsabers and holocrons. It was annoying, but at least it looked like a mashup of Star Wars and Christmas. And then there was a little base-thing that was either a representation of Echo Base or a small hill with two guns. I don't think anyone ever figured it out.
This thing at least looks like it would fit on Endor and could make a decent but small addition to the UCS Ewok Village. Remove the weapons and the dark bley pieces and it's a nice little tree stump vignette.
Honestly, this weapons rack is a lot better than the previous ones. Instead of just being a stack of clips with weapons, it actually represents something. You can play with the Ewok drumming. It even has a relatively rare foliage piece. I think it deserves a 3.5.
[sing] On the 6th day of advent we got another WEAPONS RACK... [ / sing] :oP
It's actually quite good as far as weapons racks go, but honestly, I have to question the inclusion of a Jawa ion blaster in what is clearly a Endor-themed weapons rack. The only reason it's there is to give the Jawa a little weapon. It definitely feels a bit out of place, and I'm surprised you didn't even question it's inclusion here ;o)
I still wonder why it's so hard to just put the weapons in the days with minifigures...
For a weapons rack, it's ok. The worst part is that it has a Jawa ion blaster, when the rest of it is clearly based off Endor. (it's made from a tree trunk drum, it has foliage, it has an Ewok bow and arrow)
Wait, TheOneVeyronian beat me to saying that!
One ship from Endor they haven't made in mini scale yet: The B-wing! I've made one in mini scale myself, and you can make them quite realistic with under 20 pieces.
Simple solution: give the weapons to the characters they belong to. I didn't even bother putting the ion gun on the rack--it went right to the Jawa. Assuming there's an Ewok in this pack, the bow and arrow will go right to him.
If you are not satisfied with today's surprise, you will definitely outrage tomorrow... A real disappointment it will be, I must say.
Even though this is my first advent calendar, I knew a weapons rack will show up. I'm alright with it. I'm confused why the ion blaster is here and not included with the Jawa. This is my first time having this type of plant/grass element, so I'm happy about that!
Ahhh, it's a drum…!!!
More minifigs and microscale ships and less weapon racks, Mr. Knudstorp!!
You object to their existence of a new plant piece???
And I would like a mini figure very day for 24 days... just saying....
I think that for a future Star Wars Endor Advent set they should include the iconic Ewok stormtrooper helmet drum.
I personally believe this is a tree stump instead of a drum. Why anyone would hold weapons on either, we may never know.
