Barnes and Noble stores hosting AFOL Architecture events
Posted by HearItWow,
U.S. book retailer (yes, we still have some) Barnes and Noble will be hosting an Architecture event for teens and adults at stores across the United States from January 16 to 31. According to their description, "Adults and teenagers (ages 14 and up), join us to help build our new LEGO Skyline in-store display and enjoy a LEGO Architecture build with Architecture Studio bricks after."
Events are scheduled at multiple Barnes and Noble locations in each state, so it should be easy to find one near you. You can use their Store Event Locator to find dates and times, which mostly fall on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few taking place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 18. The link is set for Boston, but you can change it to any location by clicking Change Location above the Reset Filters button and providing your ZIP Code.
The LEGO Architecture skylines are an interesting new direction for the series, and in-store events specifically for teens and AFOLs are uncommon, which will make this one worth attending for older LEGO fans.

Wow this is really neat, and my local store is hosting it to. I will definitely have to attend. Thanks for sharing this!
This is awesome, will definitely be participating. Thanks for the info!
Ages 14 and up?! Great. Now I have to rationalize that oh, it would be so BORING to just be building those Architecture sets, and all that.
And my local B&N actually is hosting one of these! I hate arbitrary age restrictions.
Would be good to see similar in uk
Local B&N in Milford, CT is hosting, marked on my calendar. Thanks for sharing!
Argh. Tons in California, and none near me!
MeganL: Did you make sure to set your location? For some reason it thought I was in Colorado, but when I told it where I was, there were three near me.
jmjt4: What you build with is the Architecture studio, though it's several of them dumped into some number of anonymous boxes.
PicnicBasketSam: Don't sweat the age thing. Even if a ton of the "allowed" age people show up, there should be plenty of room for you.
In any case, I hope it works better than the last one. I went to the store a little early to scout things out, and there was NOTHING until shortly before the designated start time when some employee started dragging the materials out. They said that someone was supposed to come to run the thing, but they never showed. I stayed anyway, because hey, LEGO time!
The whole time I was there, *one* other person, clearly under 14, came and built with me.
