BrickLive Birmingham: two weeks to go
Posted by Huw,
BrickLive, the UK's largest LEGO event this year, is taking place in two weeks' time at the NEC, Birmingham, 27 - 30 October.
As well as a FanZone, where some 70 AFOLs will be displaying their models, there is a lot more going on:
- Carl Greatrix will be on hand to sign Caterham 7 boxes on the Saturday and Sunday.
- A record-breaking attempt at building the largest LEGO Pumpkin.
- FIRST LEGO League workshop.
- The world's largest LEGO ship will be on display.
- Warren Elsmore will be launching two new books. They will be available for purchase and Warren will be on hand to sign copies.
- Warner Brothers and TT Games will be revealing a whole host of new content which you can read about after the break.
Finally, and most importantly, our favourite charity Fairy Bricks will invite attendees to help construct a massive mosaic.
There is also an opportunity for attendees to order this rather cool Halloween-themed Fairy Bricks T Shirt.
You can read how to order one here. Note that they will not be on sale at the show, and that they must be collected at the show: there is no postal option.
I will attending on the first day and will post a report that evening. I will also be posting live from the event on Twitter (@brickset).
BRICKLIVE will be held from Thursday the 27th to Sunday the 30th of October. General admission tickets are £20 or upgrade to a Premium ticket for £35. For more information as well as booking details, visit www.bricklive.co.uk
Almost forgot... if you have not already, help Beyond The Brick film BrickLive Birmingham.
Here is what WB and TT have planned:
LEGO STAR WARS
The No. 1 LEGO videogame franchise triumphantly returns with a fun-filled, humorous journey based on the blockbuster film. The game will also feature brand new story content from the Star Wars Universe that explores the time between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Get hands on with LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens at BRICK Show, on one of sixteen kiosks with PlayStation 4.
Also, don't miss the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Videogame Exhibition, available to view in the UK for the very first time, the exhibition features exclusive artwork and gameplay scene recreations from the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Videogame!
LEGO SCOOBY-DOO
To celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of the all new LEGO Original Movie ‘LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood’ we are excited to reveal that there will be two special events held at the BRICK Show this October.
We will be encouraging fans to get involved in a Spooktacular Scooby Scavenger Hunt where visitors to the show have the chance to meet the Scooby-Doo! and Shaggy costume characters, alongside helping Scoobs and the gang solve another mystery by finding all the Hollywood Stars, scattered around the show.
By taking part in the hunt fans could be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes. Alongside this, there will be a special, exclusive screening of the new movie ‘LEGO Scooby-Doo!: Haunted Hollywood’ held at the show, where LEGO Scooby himself will also be on hand for selfies!
LEGO DIMENSIONS
With more characters joining in on the fun, get ready for the wildest mash-ups this side of the Multiverse. Play through full-movie experiences of the year’s biggest blockbusters with immersive 6-level Story Packs, and prepare for battle in all-new Adventure World Battle Arenas where you can challenge friends in 4-player competitive split-screen.
So grab your favourite characters and make room for the new ones to continue the LEGO Dimensions adventure. You are going to need a bigger imagination! Get hands on with all new LEGO Dimensions Accessory Packs at BRICK Show, on one of sixteen kiosks with PlayStation 4!
You will be able to play all new multiplayer Battle Arenas, as well as levels from the new Ghostbusters Movie and from Mission Impossible. Playable characters will include Harry Potter, Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible, Abby Yates from Ghostbusters, Lord Voldemort, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, Gizmo and Stripe from Gremlins, and many more! You will also have the opportunity to add the exclusive character Green Arrow to your roster, with a fun LEGO Dimensions Character Card collection taking place throughout BRICK Show, whereby if you collect all 20 Characters, you can claim your Green Arrow minifigure. Make sure you check either the LEGO Dimensions stand, or your Show Guide for full details, and we look forward to seeing you at the show!
LEGO WORLDS
EXPLORE. DISCOVER. CREATE. LEGO Worlds is a galaxy of procedurally-generated Worlds made entirely of LEGO bricks which you can freely manipulate and dynamically populate with LEGO models.
Explore each World and unlock new discoveries: from cowboys and giraffes to vampires and polar bears, to steamrollers, race cars, and colossal digging machines! Use the multi-tool to shape environments and alter any World to your liking: raise the terrain to create vast mountain ranges, or enter the Brick-by-Brick editor to build anything you can imagine. Save your creations to build with them again.
LEGO Worlds enables you to populate your Worlds with many weird and wonderful characters, creatures, models, and driveable vehicles, and then play out your own unique adventures. Probably not worth upsetting the Skeletons though...
STAGE PRESENTATIONS
LEGO Worlds 1pm daily. In a galaxy of procedural worlds made entirely from LEGO bricks, join Chris Rose and Loz Doyle from TT Games as they Explore, Discover and Create within LEGO Worlds.
LEGO Dimensions 2pm daily. Join Mark Warburton from TT Games who will be showing you some of the amazing new features, characters and gameplay that are arriving in LEGO Dimensions this Autumn.

Bricks Magazine gonna be there?
It's my understanding that they won't be there this year.
I'm heading down on the Saturday for the first time. I wondered if there is any custom Lego on sale there (minifigs) or if it's official stuff only?
If it's anything like last year you'll be spoiled for choice...
I've been attending Brick for two years now as it was quite local for me. However this year it's around 2 hours away so I've been putting off going.
Im there on the first day hope to see some of you .
Thanks Huw, not normally one to pick up the custom stuff but wouldnt mind some Suicide Squad figs.
Looking forward to it.
I will be helping Kev and the team on Fairybricks. See you there. We just have to get Kev back from Dubai first!!
Sounds amazing. Gutted I can't make it! :-(
Looking forward to it, it's always a fun show! We'll (minifigs.me) will be there with most of our range of custom minifigs. I'll make sure we pack some Harley Quinn's for you MrWare!
I'm Volunteering on the Saturday and Sunday this year, so that'll be fun! Hopefully it's gonna be an amazing show again this year!
