You're a vegetable, you're a vegetable
Still they hate you, you're a vegetable
You're just a buffet, you're a vegetable
They eat off of you, you're a vegetable
I think this is supposed to be an acorn once the "nipple" part is added as the top, but it doesn't look even close to me.

Hard to tell if that's before or after eating... Certainly needs more chewing if the latter.
Bummer this piece isn't used more, it's pretty unique
Odd. I thought this had made it into some regular sets. Nope. Only Collectible minifigures. Plain for Chip 71024-7 and printed for Neville 71022-6
@fourstud: Indeed, and they could probably find plenty of non-vegetable uses for it if they set their mind to it. Speaking of pieces only used in CMFs so far, I'd love to see them re-use 71017-12's head without the printing. It'd make for a great greeble.
Looks like a potato to me , but apparently its an acorn/Mandrake
Waiting for Mango No.5
Do you like my new table? Yeah, it's a Vegé, and I mean, look how fancy it is! Just look at that edible beauty. I mean, do you know how expensive it was? The import costs alone are going to keep me out of business, but was it worth it.
@cody6268:
That was a reuse of the part, so it wasn’t actually designed with acorns in mind.
Hmm...So this is what would happen if Dr. Moreau used 'vegetables' instead of 'animals'...tomorrow: 'minerals'!:D
Looks a bit more like a Vegetable, No. 2 to me
I wonder if two of these would go well with the Krydsblok.
I quite like this piece, I think it ought to make it's debut in a proper set. Maybe one of those city farm sets as some variety of tuber?
Ah, the "Snake Digestion" piece.
I was REALLY disapointed it was never used more. Such a great piece.
Alright, earmuffs on everyone
Some say that it's a fictitious plant from a magical franchise, and that the sound it makes is terrifying at best.
All we know is, it's not The Stig. But it's The Stig's vegetable cousin.

Wow, what a list.
(conspiracy theory) These parts are made in China so designers in Denmark have no access to them. (/conspiracy theory)

Did you want to be starting something?
Definitely the number 1 vegetable in my book!

i need a little bit of Mango in my life,
a little bit of Papaya by my side,
a little bit of Apple's all i need,
a little bit of Orange's what i see,
a little bit of Banana in the sun,
a little bit of Grapes all night long,
a little bit of Pineapple, here i am,
a little bit of Peach makes me your man."
I sang this as I read it. I couldn't help it... now I want Weird Al to make it into a full parody!

I don't think that's the case. @PurpleDave pointed out in a different article that it's mostly about the designers being asked whether or not the items can be widely used (which is why we did get stuff from the CMF-lines added to other lines, including the paint-roller, the bulldog, the chihuahua, the teddy-bear, the swirly poop et cetera - really, not gonna list them all).
Still. It's infuriating that some animals get added (hello, bulldog!), but others do not (goodbye, wiener-dog!). It's particularly grating in the case of the chimp. I will die on my hill, defending my precious https://rebrickable.com/parts/95327pr0001/animal-monkey-ape-chimpanzee-with-light-nougat-face-print/ from the disgusting abomination that is https://rebrickable.com/parts/77864pr0001/animal-monkey-ape-orangutan-one-arm-out-with-light-nougat-face-print/ .
What even IS that? That's not an Orang-Utan, that's a freak of nature, begging for money or copping a feel with its one, freakishly large claw. Get that thing away from me!"
It's not a bad monkey but it's certainly not an ape since no apes have tails.
@biffuz:
Not a conspiracy theory. I got it from Kevin Hinkle himself (former community relations frontman for North America) that CMF parts were treated even more restrictively than Q-elements (regular parts in non-production colors). He once requested something CMF-related for his job, and was flat-out denied. This is a guy who even managed to get them to hand over a few SDCC minifigs for him to give out somewhere other than SDCC (we have seen them raffled through VIP Rewards, so it’s not unheard of).
HP2 was the final wave of CMFs that was exclusively made in China. It was followed very quickly by the Unikitty not-quite-CMFs, and on the four-month release schedule by the TLM2 packets that had changed size and farmed out part production to several locations around the world (I think including Denmark, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Mexico, in addition to China).
I also got it face-to-face with a set designer for the Friends theme at Brickworld Chicago (2018?) that they needed approval to pull CMF part designs into the retail set parts palette, because I specifically asked about mold differences that occurred when this happened, and why such a limited range of parts seemed to make the jump. She told us hair was the easiest to get approved because it could be used across a broad range of themes, where certain accessories have extremely limited uses (the macuahuitl would work for an Aztec theme, an archaeologist who’s studying Aztec culture, or a collector of Aztec relics, and not much else).
The designer of the Steamboat Willie set said in an interview that the other themes can’t directly copy any CMFs (I think the CMF Santa Claus was the last to get an exact copy including accessories). I mean, this info has been trickling out of Billund for several years now, and there have been noticeable mold differences between a CMF vs regular retail use of the same part. If you choose not to believe it, that makes you the conspiracy theorist, not us.
@Ridgeheart:
Wherever it was that you posted that same list the other day, I did respond yesterday with instances of several of them appearing in regular retail sets besides Dimensions or Vidiyo. Might be time to update your saved copy.
