Nice smaller castle set

Posted by natro220 in United States on 06 November 2009

I always thought this set was fun to play with. It has a good variety of minifigs (a forestman, crusader, and knight), a horse, and a decent color scheme. While it's obviously not as fun to play or build as a lot of the castles in the genre, it's a good addition to your medival world.

Pretty good medieval transport

Posted by wakproductions in United States on 27 July 2009

I think you get pretty good value for the size of this set. 3 minifigs! You get a Forestman, Crusader Knight, and an un-knighted Crusader mercenary to drive the coach. As a prisoner transport, it gets the job done. While some may complain it's not roomy enough, I have found that it can easily transport at least two.

One problem with this set is that some of them had a production error where the cage doors did not have the correct part shipped in the package. The top part of the door did not have holes in the bottom, making it impossible to install the cross section that secures the bars in place. Other than that, it's a cool set!

Watch out! Robin will escape!

Posted by legotrainfan in Austria on 02 January 2008

I think this set deserves four points. 6055 might be better - I don't have it myself - but this one is great as well. The only thing that I miss a bit is a locking mechanism for the doors with the bars. It's a bit simple in terms of style, but I don't mind. I played with it many hours when I was a child.

You get one soldier, a knight and Robin Hood. Enough minifigs to start playing with. Robin escapes and the soldier and the knight are busy with finding him. If they don't, the furious king will throw them into the kingdom's worst prison cell.

Two horses in different colours - wonderful - and the knight has one of those brilliant armors on. And no, there is not only one sword. The knight has a sword and another one is held by a blue plate with a clip at the carriage's back. A nice set, but the coachman should have either a sword or a shield.

Resistance is Futile

Posted by Novelty in Brunei Darussalam on 30 March 2007

This set tries to update the classic 6055 set, but it gets a few things mumbled up. In an attempt to reduce the set size though, a few things are eliminated. Gone is the carriage pulled by 4 horses, it has been replaced by just one white horse. Gone is the mischievious merchant/peasant, in comes the forestman. Gone is the small and cramped cell, the new version is roomy and airy with bars for doors. Gone is the lockable door/ramp, the clip-shut doors (yes, that's two, one on each side) can easily be opened from the inside as the outside.

Compared to the set that this one is designed to replace, it is but a poor echo. Sure there's a forestman, but even that can't offset the fact that the design of this set is poor when compared with 6055.
