Snowspeeder flies past turrent (Which I may say, rocks!)

Posted by LEGOwikiguy in United States on 31 January 2010

Ok, my favorite thing about this set: THE TURRENT! It's awesome, spins, and I added a my own bunker (Made with white pieces), and the rebel trooper really has a sweet-looking face.

The snowspeeder has an...unusual design. The two spaces (Pilot and co-pilot seats) are made seperately with a wall between them (Much unlike the real thing from The Empire Strikes Back).

Price is very good, considering parts and build (I actually got it for $40, and still think it was worth that). Here are some Pros and Cons to summarize this set:

Pros:

1. Snowspeeder is very sturdy

2. Both cockpits open well, and minifigures fit well inside

3. Luke, Dak, and a trooper! All this set is really missing is a snowtrooper!

4. Mondular Build

5. Turrent is great!

Cons:

1. Seperate rooms for pilots, unlike movie

2. Turrent does break sometimes, especially the very front gun

All in all, this set gets a 4.5/5. Great set, easy build, good for younger children too. I recommend this set to any LEGO Star Wars fan, though not if you want the Hoth Rebel Base (That set's snowspeeder is alot more realistic, but breaks more).

Works with hoth

Posted by Starwarsgeek500 in United States on 19 September 2009

Well, this is one of the best battle set I've seen so far. Here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
- sweet harpoon gun
- Dack, Luke, and rebel trooper
- movie accurate
- satelite gun

Cons:
- None I can think of

This set works best with the other three Hoth sets (Hoth battle, AT-AT, and Echo Base). If you buy those, you get 5 rebels, two snow speeders, Han Solo, Tauntaun, 2 repeating blasters, three rebel guns, General Veers, and 5 snow troopers, plus Echo Base and an AT-AT. You get those and you can reenact the whole Battle of Hoth!

Still a classic

Posted by Travis_3210 in Canada on 08 July 2009

Can't believe it's been 10 years since I first built this, (then took apart and never bothered to build again).

I'll get right to it and do pros and cons.

Pros:
Three Minifigs-Luke, Dack, Rebel Soldier
They're pretty basic. Im still trying to understand why the Rebel Soldier has a brown visor.
No stickers, The piece at the front and the canopy is printed. As well as the two rogue squadron symbols under the turn flaps.
Theres a black piece at the very back that is fairly rare.
Theres a place for both pilots
The satellite is cool (IT ISN'T A TURRET!)

Cons:
Dack sits kinda low in his seat, (he can barely see over the harpoon gun)
The orange pieces, the snowspeeders in the movie didnt have any orange on them.

And the "3 brick long" thing that sticks out the back is where dack sits, (personally I like it because I can use it as a handle for swooshing around the room lol.)

Can the Rebel snowspeeders hold back the Empire?

Posted by Crazybrick45 in United States on 18 June 2009

This set is awsome! It comes with a rebel soldier, luke, and luke's co-pilot. The 2 flaps at the back go up and down, as well as the cockpit. The grappleing hook feature is awsome. This set goes GREAT with the new AT-AT, as you can have a battle with the snowspeeder trying to tackle the AT-AT with the cable while the AT-AT is walking.

Pros:
3 minifigs
Grappling hook feature
Wings move up and down
Great cholor scheme
Turret for the rebel soldier

Cons:
Grappling hook wire kinda hard to set.

Overall this set is great. One of the best small ships in the StarWars line.

all legos should be this sturdy!

Posted by guybrush threepwood in United States on 19 November 2008

snow speeder is great. all of the minis have nice detail.
front printed is a great piece and size is just right.
two hatches (one in front and one in back) seat the pilot and gunner very comfortably. no tauntaun, though. maybe 2009 echo base will have one. here are pros\cons:

pros:
minis
great with 4502
gun turret
the back view is very realistic
so is the front view

cons:
there's a three stud long
block-like protrusion in the back
