Brickset statistics going through the roof

Have you looked at the Brickset Statistics page lately? The page shows the number of people that use the site per month and also the number of visits and page views.

As you can see, the graphs are climbing very rapidly, obviously because we are heading towards Christmas. At the moment 177,000 people are visiting nearly 500,000 times a month and viewing 2.5 million pages! There's a way to go before we match last year's peak page views of 2.9 million at the end of December 2008, but that was before the site was rewritten.

If you click on one of the graphs you can get a wealth of other useful and interesting information including the fact that Brickset is nearly in the top 20,000 websites on the Internet!

Holiday fun at LEGO.com

I'm a bit late telling you about the Christmas themed mini models instructions available on LEGO.com: they were mentioned by someone in a comment before they were published but I forgot all about them until I read the Mostly Bricks blog today.

So if you have a memory like a sieve like me and haven't checked them out yet either, head over to the Christmas gift shop for some cool instructions for snowmen, Christmas trees, angels and so on.

2010 Star Wars and Toy Story pictures

Yet more 2010 images have surfaced on Amazon.com: thanks to everyone that emailed us to say they'd found them there and on flickr and Eurobricks. I've now added them to Brickset and as a reminder you can see how 2010 is shaping up on the Sets (to be) released in 2010 page.

Forthcoming bargains to be had at Target

A Target employee has emailed to say "Black Friday Lego sets that will be deeply discounted at Target stores will be the 7267 Temple of the Crystal Skull and 7048 Troll Warship. I am not sure what the exact pricing will be but should be in the $45-$60 range during the two-day sale."

Toys R Us (USA) Now Stocking 2010 Sets...

Reports are coming through of year 2010 sets being stocked by Toys R Us in the USA. Sets available include some Creator, Technic, Racers, Atlantis and the new City Fire Station set 7208.

Update 15th Nov: Although they don't appear to be everywhere yet, Chad in Texas who originally told us about this has confirmed that the Toys R Us in north Austin/Cedar Park (Pecan Park Boulevard) in Austin, Texas has those listed by Grahame in the comments and he's reviewed the Atlantis sets at his MostlyBricks blog (--Huw)

Update 17th Nov: There have also been reports of the new Space Police sets out at Toys R Us, but the only confirmation I have is in the same Cedar Park, Texas area. The new SPIII sets include the new full-face space helmets. Available sets are the Raid VPR #5981 and Smash n' Grab #5982. Reviews can be found on the above MostlyBricks blog linked by Huw! (-jkool)

New Theme mini web sites

As we move closer to the next wave of set releases, LEGO have launched a couple of mini websites that tie into new themes, Atlantis & Ben 10.

Not much content on either just yet, but keep checking them over the coming weeks as more & more content is added.

Thanks to brickset members nadnerb112 & GameOn99 for the news (but how about emailing it in next time, rather than spamming the news articles? Anyway thanks guys :-) )

Star Wars Brickmaster sets now available from LEGOshop.com in the UK

The two recent sets available exclusively in the USA to Brickmaster subscribers are now available to order from LEGOshop.com: 20009 AT-TE Walker and 20010 Republic Attack Gunship . These are great stocking-fillers either for yourself or someone else, although they are perhaps a bit pricey.

Update 12 Nov: 20010 has sold out already! What's more, I didn't get my order in in time! If anyone ordered more than they need and can spare me one, do please get in touch!

LEGO Rock Band now shipping

I'm not a big fan of video games but I know a lot of you are, so I suspect you already know that LEGO Rock Band is now shipping in the USA and is released later this month in the UK and the rest of Europe.

However, what's more interesting to me are these instructions for the rock band tour bus that bluemoose found on LEGO.com. I'm not sure about the back wheels but otherwise it's a good rendition of a VW van!
