By in Germany,

Aaaand Lego.com is lagging!

Gravatar
By in France,

Managed to get them, with less struggle than last time on Lego's site!
Whew! I'm happy.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Ordered with no problems.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man, that Forest Stronghold set is awesome!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego website won't let me check out. Figures!

EDIT: After the seventh try, it finally let me pay. I got the Harbor, Chocolate, and Forrest. I'm probably going to get the camper too, but mulling the Lost Castle.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Surprise, surprise, Forest Stronghold funded first.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only one not already funded is Lost Castle.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Links were already open 5 minutes before 5pm EST. Never was so smoothly as today.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

That was surprisingly easy, I got the Camping Adventures with minimal browser refreshing!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Got my order in, Forrest Stronghold and Harbour Master. Awaiting Lego emails, but finally got on my account page and it says in process. Smoothest order I've had with bricklink, only delay was paypal authorization code.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Forrest is already 25% to sold out.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Chocolate... did you say... chocolate...?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah Error 505! Wouldn't expect anything less from a multi-billion dollar company! :)

They forgot to bug the site and it's a tempting set

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I thought today was so much better than the previous 2 waves, got just the one set this time as I know the next few months are going to be expensive

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

I just cannot pull the trigger on any of those. I want paper instructions.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Forrest about a third sold out already.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They've done a great job compared to previous Bricklink waves - I just sailed through the process with no problems at all!

I've sailed through it too, but where's the excitement in that?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone else dread this time of year? My anxiety shoots stray through the roof, but, for once, after the brief return of the old familiar 'error 5000,' my order for The Art of Chocolate finally went through, and without wanting to count my chickens at this stage (even after receiving the golden "Your LEGO® order is confirmed" email), it appears to have gone relatively smoothly this time (particularly after a nice chat with a very helpful Lego customer service team-member).

"I think I'm getting better."

"No, sweet Concorde, it took you seven times of back and forth checkout page manipulation. You rest here, and let me rush to pay for the castle in my own particular..... er... er...."

"Idiom, sir?"

"YES!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

Forrest nearly halfway sold out. Lost is right on the cusp of being funded. Camper is the second most popular at about 33% sold.

Still not perfect, but significantly better than it's been in the past, and in view of the program's nature, I can't imagine it's ever going to go 100% smoothly (much like any system accounting for a huge number of people making multiple orders for a limited number of items at the same time).

The popularity of the Camper set demonstrates the sense in having at least *one* relatively 'affordable' (i.e. < £100) set in each round. I also imagine a large number of its sales are coming from people who've already purchased one of the other sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would love to see Camping Adventure sell out, to send a message that smaller sets are appreciated. I can't remember whether Series 1 Snack Shack did or not. I really like both of those sets. Also looking forward to Popcorn Wagon in Series 5.

It's the 4th time you are writing "Forrest" instead of "Forest" :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a mess on the website. Keep trying if it times out on you. I had to repeatedly reload the order screen.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

After missing out last time I jumped in right away to order. What a roller coaster of errors and waiting.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Congrats to all five designers! All five sets have now reached the minimum funding limit.

Wow. I'm usually much better than that. Yikes!

Forest 50% sold out.

Run, Forest, Run!

Spell, Forest, spell!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very smooth process this time. Site is running a tad slow, but no major issues. I also wait a half hour before even trying to place my order so that may have helped.

I have tried to buy the cheapest of each round, luckily the cheap ones are great designs. It does beg two questions, Why don't they make more if they sell 15,000 of one in a few hours, and I wonder how many of similar size and priced Lego sets they make, Did they make 30,000 Lions Night Castles? Do they make 100,000 of some Star Wars or City sets?

Gravatar
By in United States,

FS secured. Minimal reloads. I look forward to adding more to fill out the back of each side and make it 360 complete!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I went and forgot about this. Thankfully, I remembered in time to log in and secure a couple of sets. Went smoothly for a change. Just glad I'm not interested in the Forest Stronghold as it looks like it will imminently be sold out

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

Just under two hours gone and the Forest Stronghold is almost sold out.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

They went crazy with pricing in Switzerland - 329 CHF for the castle, while it's 260 CHF in rest of Europe. I'm glad that I have an address outside of Switzerland.

If you also have a house abroad, I'm sure you can pay the extra 69 CHF. ;-)

Got the camper and the Forest Stronghold. Now I just need an extra house to put it in.

By in Luxembourg,

I avoided the rush and chaos of the last few series at the start thinking that with 30000 copies there was a bit of time. I bought what I wanted (camper and forest) 1 hour after the start and everything went very smoothly. The BL site, the redirection to the lego shop and the payment process. Stress free for once. Hoorah...
Now off to read the review for the chocolate set and hoping that it won't tempt me into ordering that one as well ??

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I know the original Castle in the Forest went out of stock in under an hour, looks like this one went fast too! I'm guessing the continued demand means more Forestmen sets will get made, I haven't looked at entries for round 6 but I bet I'll find some.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I ordered Camping Adventures only, as it's a neat little set, and it will complement A-Frame Cabin well.

I really liked the look of Forest Stronghold, but the fact that it didn't have a closed back (unlike the other Bricklink castles) was a deal-breaker.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Alas, work was busy today so I did not get an opportunity for my normal hemming and hawing on my favorite time of the year, BLDP Day. Forest Stronghold, my dear friend, it must not have been meant to be.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Interesting; I thought (based on glowing reviews and comments) that the Harbourmaster’s office would be the hottest item. With (at least) 2 castle sets in the mix, series 4 will be a frenzy.

Lost city is our household’s favourite; fortunately we will be able to order at our leisure.

That was my sticking point with Forest Stronghold too, but looking at it, there might be a work around on moving the edge of baseplates without buying parts, providing you forget the bridge.

That's my initial idea anyway, which made me get it. First time I've ordered more than one set. Should have the series before, but I never saw a review of Mountain Fortress until afterwards and only then I saw that that the set folded in and had to buy off eBay. Didn't pay too much over the original price, but missed out there, with points, so this time I did my research and took a risk.

2024 is proving to be an expensive year.....

Stay safe.

I would recommend getting out. Riding out a hurricane is no, no, no fun, even a Cat 1.

I did it twice, and I'll never do it again.

I had been on the fence about the Mountain Fortress in Series 1 but FOMO won out. Having now seen it built (by my son), I'm in awe. It's simply spectacular. Thank you for drawing attention to the fact that the Forest Stronghold is not closed. I will lean on that for easing my disappointment.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A bit late to the party but luckily the two sets I wanted were the Harbormaster set and the Art of Chocolate. Preordered both :)

If I had other Medieval sets then I would have been bummed that I missed the Forest set

Glad I got some Series 3 anyway, I got the Bowling Alley in Series 1. Completely missed the awesome Train Station set in Series 2 though :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sadly I missed out on the Forest set because I was at the Dentist. I'm still on the fence with the Camping one so I may just wait for the instructions to be published.

Still time to buy it, but I'm sure you can download the instructions when the sets are ready from bricklink whether you've ordered one or not, because I have for the ones I had to get off eBay without proof of purchase.

I wasn't aware that the designer would get 5% of sales. Wow and to think that the same designer will have another set in series 5. There is another designer who has 2 sets is various series.

If that's true with the 5% then this pays probably better than working for LEGO as a regular designer?? just a lot less secure...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Interesting that only two sets have sold out this round, by now on the first series all of them were sold out or the ones that were not favorites didn't make it. Has the series lost its lustre? And the fact that the Castle set for the Forestmen has sold out first is a testament that Lego really should consider bringing back the Castle series???!!!

This is not actually true as as the Bricklink Designer Program is so far 30 for 30 with regards to funding. Additionally, with regards to these first three Series, only 2 or 3 sets in each Series have "Quickly" sold out.

Yes, incredibly lucrative if chosen. It is 5% of net sales, so they'll take off VAT/sales tax, shipping and probably other costs but still, it is a lot of money.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Especially for those with more than 1 successful submission! 4 out of the 5 finalists for series 4 (crowdfunding in Feb 2025) and 3 out of the 5 finalists in series 5 have had a set in previous series.

I'm a tad vague on what lost civilization (if any IRL one) the lost city is supposed to represent. The architecture doesn't obviously scan for any of the world's major past or present civilizations.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
