40782 Tropical Rainforest Diorama GWP revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,
LEGO.com has published images of a new gift-with-purchase set, 40782 Tropical Rainforest Diorama.
The set description states that this will be the first of four sets celebrating 'the wonders of travel and nature' this year. Its availability is unknown at the moment, but I assume it will be released later in February.
View box images after the break...
What do you think of this gift-with-purchase and what do you hope the series will entail? Let us know in the comments.

Another month, another decent GWP that still isn't enough to tempt me into a big purchase...
but couldn't they add ONE MORE PIECE to make it 300???????
You could easily mod this into one of the botanical gardens.
Nice parts pack.
Here we go again.

Thanks. Now I need it ;)
A bit small, but very nice. An actual large scale set of this would be cool!
Looks like a busy mess to me.

Why?
That's cool. I like it.
I kinda want to stick some crystal elements on it and say it's Sholazar Basin.
...Man, it's been what, 14 years since I stopped playing WoW? Some things really don't leave you.

Rainforests tend to be that way.
This is nice, I like it. Curious to see where they take this series, I guess.
ok
Wonders of travel and nature of the world, gardens of the world, restaurants of the world...
Other "leak" websites indicate this will be available February 8 to 12, and for $150 USD threshold.
Same website also said this would coincide with 2x Insider Points.

They are really trying to get us to buy the One Piece sets!
It's extremely cute! I was going to buy the Jazz Club today to avoid potentially getting tariffed by my tax-increase loving president, but I think I might be able to chance waiting for this to become available.

I agree, but at the same time I love it. Maybe if it was a bit bigger. It seems like a lot is happening at the same time, but only a small percent of it is actually alive. It is a great set for the pieces though.
Could've added a different colored duck (red) to the mix
Should there not be a minifigure of Blue Shirt Guy with this?
Looking nice, but yeah, GWP so no.
Not enough Johnny Thunder.

we got a month, hopefully lego finds away around it?
ship ...make more Europe...
LEGO has a factory located in Brazil, specifically in the city of Monterrey.
Solution = Mexico factory Supplies South America, Brazil supplies the North Americas.
Switch where the 2 plants ship too.

Say you’ve not seen a rainforest without saying you’ve not seen a rainforest:
Not horrible. Not terribly exciting.
It's one of those spare-part GWPs that could possibly provoke a pecuniary puchase if it has a particular partner with more pizazz.
hopefully Lego does this... avoid tarrifs.

I actually imagine this type of scenery when I’m trying to get to sleep sometimes so this appeals to me a lot.
lick the frogs
j/k don't, probably dangerous.
Got 1 question though.
What is on the blue pieces in river. they are black does it say something?(lego?)
I guess I'm a narrow-minded LEGO purist, but I dislike it when they combine brick-built and molded animals in a single set.
Instead of the brick-built bird, I'd love to have seen a cockatoo or toucan, or maybe even a recoloured falcon to resemble a parrot.
I see this and all I can think of is the missed opportunity to give us the new Python/Boa mold with the markings of a Green Anaconda.

Looks decent enough, but I'm kind of oversaturated with LEGO and GWPs in particular at the moment. I see most new reveals and feel like "Meh, ok, don't really need that."
I really need some kind of wow effect to entice me into wanting to buy something again.

I really want one. Think go great with 71819 Dragon Stone Shrine. If I'm able to put that-40782 in front and below the shrine.

If you're referring to the trans-light-blue cheese slopes, you're seeing the mold markings (small text might be design ID number, large text is definitely mold/cavity number) from the inverse side, because they're transparent. This appears to be a legit photo, and not a computer generated image.

Yeah, I saw. The CA and MX tariffs being waived "for now" at least makes me think I have a little time, I guess.
Sorry to get political, but regardless of whether or not someone supports Trump, the simple fact is that if tariffs go through LEGO will likely get even more expensive. That'll impact the hobby and LEGO as a company, and IMO it's just a fact that needs to be talked about.

I'm with you on that: either everything brick-built or everything moulded.
It seems a toucan would have been perfect here. Or maybe a baby jaguar (small lion with spots?) or even the large Lego snake in flame yellowish orange as an eyelash viper or in lime green as a pit viper.
(quite a few boas and anacondas over there but most of the snakes are not very colourful like the San Francisco garter-snake or the California Mountain Kingsnake). Edit: just found out about the rainbow boa which could be done in reddish orange.
This one is not for me though. That said, if this comes at the same time of a double point promotion, I might end up with it anyway. I recently counted how many GWP I get per year - that number is steadily going down. There are a few recent ones for which I had no interest whatsoever and I ended up getting them because of other promotions. IMO the "overall" quality of GWP is dwindling - and I suppose it is to be expected; the more you do, the harder it is to keep the quality/novelty/attractiveness/etc.
This is my kind of GWP. Very excited for this and the rest of the series. Looks great!

There is the zoom function, yes. Click on the image, and then click on the icon that pops up in the lower right of the image to get the largest zoom available, and you can make out tons of detail that's not visible in the embedded images.

70 was original price for costco. Still a great deal that.
yes was clearanced and (try 2 weeks later if on clearance? price go down more) I saw $50 $40... keep eye them.
, just remember keep receipt 30 days,or customer service look up order. price adjustment. Most likely all gone, think was 2024 nov? dec? Holidays though...
yeah bamboo and other $21, still beats retail store sales. Also Have Love one.
I just got new bouquet, thinking is going sell out fast,
Is this a diorama? It looks more of a joke named like that. How can this tiny build capture a majestic rainforest? Doesnt work for me. It looks more like a nice Australian front or backyard section or something like that.
If you are eager to buy from Lego direct (which is mostly not a good idea at all) during the time of availability, then this might be a nice parts pack gift i guess. But just buy something to get this gwp is pretty dumb in my opinion. Even for reselling purpose, i bet the aftermarkets price wont go above 15€, maybe just 10€ only. I can easily rebuild this or something very similar with the parts i own. Nothing of interest to me. The same goes for the houses of the world line. Very lame and pretty easy to rebuild if you ask me.
sorry that got turned into a costco conversation

Tariffs hurt everyone, unless there are local alternatives for certain product groups that come down in price as a result of said tariffs. But if an economy is largely build on importing goods from overseas because labor costs are too high in your own country to produce those products, as is the case in all of the western world and beyond, tariffs will certainly increase prices for pretty much anything you can think of. So, if the current US administration decides to hit the EU with tariffs, it will definitely hurt US consumers. And I'm not sure if Denmark is prepared to give up Greenland in order to avoid tariffs on LEGO sets.
Also, putting tariffs on countries as a whole don't boost an economy. The US implemented such tariffs in the 1930s, hoping it would end the Great Depression, but it only made things much, much worse. Then again, I see an increasing number of failed ideas from the 1930s being recycled in today's political landscape across the globe, so I guess this attempt of doing things that have been proven not to work out well fits right in. If only we'd learn from (modern!) history.
Politics aside, this looks like a fun GWP, but I wouldn't preferred moulded animals with this one.
EDIT: I don't intent to start a political discussion, by the way, and I respect whatever stance anyone might have, but I'm just pointing to pretty basic economical principles and historic data anyone can easily access.
Lovely little GWP, but if this is the set of 4 for the year, just does not have the same draw for me as the houses and the restaurant microbuilds did. Those were must purchase for me, and I think bakery even sold out early. Do not see people going out of their way to get this one.

Not bad... As an event (Make and Take or something else) set. Not as a $200 set... It's kina weird to see how one month we get something absolutely spectacular like any vintage car as a GWP and the other month... This comes out.

Very colourful, they used to do GWP based on a larger set, which I hope one day they will make.
