Brick Like Me to air next weekend

Posted by ,

The Simpsons LEGO episode Brick Like Me will get its first airing in the UK on SKY 1, Saturday 9th August at 7:30pm. "All is not as it seems in the cartoon classic's milestone 550th episode when Homer wakes up in a world made entirely out of LEGO pieces."

Thanks to Leon for the tip-off. View the video trailer after the break...

Wait, this hasn't aired in the UK yet? What's the idea waiting 3 months to release something in the UK?!

That is just about the creepiest thing I believe I've ever seen.

Ah, I was wondering when that was going to air. Was following the season on Sky 1 but then they stopped airing it for, like, a month or so, so I wasn't sure when it was coming back on. Glad to say, a reminder has now been set thanks to Brickset! :-)

Oh my G-O-S-H! That episode was prttye funny, and there were a lot of Lego themed Easter eggs. I think you guys will like it! If you want to see it early, the full episode is already on youtube.

By in Germany,

I do have to wonder when "Easter eggs" came to mean "in-your-face references". It used to mean the exact opposite thing, *hidden* references even the most avid fans ran the risk of missing. Then again, that was back when we still tied onions to our belts.

But at any rate, references are not jokes. Despite what TBBT would have you believe. They are just references. And there were actually very few of them in this episode to boot. So much wasted potential.

Frankly, as a lifelong fan of the Simpsons and a lifelong fan of LEGO I was appalled. A pointless, boring episode with no story, jokes, or soul. Disappointing to outright horrible on more levels than there are levels. I felt dirty after watching it.

Even so, I won't go as far as saying "I think you guys will hate it", because there *is* no "you guys". This site is being frequented by hundreds of thousands of very different people of very different ages and from very different backgrounds.

I had never seen a Simpsons episode in my life upon viewing this on its May 4th premiere here in the USA. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I hope those who tune in next weekend will, as well.

So is that quote an Easter egg or an in-your-face reference..? ;)

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere, like the time I took the ferry to shelbyville, i needed a new heal for my shoe. So i tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time...

In your face reference definitely...

By in Australia,

I watched it, but to be honest, I thought meh. That said, I haven't found the Simpson's entertaining for the last 18 years anyway.
