LEGO 41843 Christmas Tree Decoration revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,
LEGO has unveiled an interesting addition to this year's seasonal range: 41843 Christmas Tree Decoration! The press release follows:
41843 Christmas Tree Decoration
3,171 pieces, rated 9+
$329.99 / £269.99 / €299.99
Available at LEGO.com from 1st October
Revealing today is the LEGO Family Christmas Tree Decoration, a 3171-piece set that invites families and builders aged 9+ to create a spectacular Christmas tree home decor piece, filled with imaginative details. The set features panels that open to reveal four rooms inside, where elves and Santa Claus are preparing for the holidays.
Included is also a sleigh, reindeer, plushies, Mrs. Claus, and five industrious elves, all ready to bring the season to life. This is also the first time a LEGO set includes a brick-built Cataclaws - the hero of the LEGO Group’s recent holiday campaigns.
Functional features include working knobs that bring the base train and kitchen clock to life, and a modular design that easily separates into sections for convenient post-holiday storage. Light and sound bricks are included to bring the tree to life. This set can be built as a shared activity, with the option to build together with up to six friends and family on the LEGO Builder app.
The LEGO Family Christmas Tree Decoration is also available for LEGO Insiders Early Access from 1st October 2025 via LEGO.com/TreeDecoration and LEGO Stores, and for all from 4th October 2025, priced at 299.99 EUR / 269.99 GBP / 329.99 USD.
What do you think of the Christmas Tree Decoration? Let us know in the comments and via our poll.

I'm an avid collector of the WV sets but this just seems like overplaying their hand. Will be sitting this one out.
300? And I though the wreath was overpriced...
Really doesn't look that big, and it is more expensive than the vast majority of people's actual Christmas tree.
I like it, but no way I am going to pay 300€ for a tree.
HE IS COME. CATACLAWS RETURNS.

I'm gonna sit this one out too. However, this is not a WV set, is it?
green spaceman helmet & airtank, green spaceman helmet & airtank!!!
I'm a sucker for Christmas sets. But there are a lot of other sets that range from $200 to $400 that I want before this one.
Can't say I'll be buying it myself, but I *do* appreciate the emphasis on being able to pack it all away into the box (which looks to be a more solid folded card than most judging by the back-of-box pic?) once the chrimbo hols are over - definitely hope that carries over into more of the chrimbo sets in general.
I like the look of it, but there is not anywhere near £270 of value that I can see
This set is actually $330, not $300...
How is this nearly the same price as the Black Pearl and how is this 3,000 pieces.
I scrolled down and saw a brand NEW castle faction AND a Classic Space sweater print! I voted, yes, eventually…. Until I scrolled back up. Oof. This darn this is a heck of a lot bigger than I thought. $300? From where? Is it supposed to fit on top of the Death Star? Anyways, the new fern piece looks pretty cool! Then, I saw something even more fun. The Green Helmet and Air tanks. Man, this set is conflicted. Oh well… maybe I’ll just spend a lot to Bricklink the figures.
And what on earth is Cataclaws? It looks terrifying next to the minifigs. I guess I missed whatever show or campaign that was introduced in.
The tree looks good, but I can't see myself buying it. I'd prefer a version on a simpler base, without the interiors, at half the price.
I like the idea of it, but not enough to pay €300.
It will be interesting to hear/read what the sound brick will have on it.
When I saw the price, I was shocked, I'm used to the prices of sets being high, but this is not Star Wars or any other licensed set. And as I see in the survey results, not many people will consider getting this Christmas tree, I would buy it if it was at least 30% cheaper.

Green helmet is available in Bricks&Pieces.
Green airtanks is a good news, but you still need a green spaceman torso, which was available only in one set so far.
I'm waiting for the dark blue spaceman helmet and air tanks to be available in Bricks&Pieces.

Thats the first thing I saw and thought ill get that £30-£50 set and make use of the Helmet. £300. Wow, Thats not very fair for Space fans.
This may well be the strangest set of the year. $300? Cataclaws? Who is this for?

The press kit we were given shows $299.99 and I cannot see anything to contradict that on LEGO.com at the moment.
The helmet and airtanks look like they might be Bright Green, not medium green. If so, that's a whole *new* spacesuit color we have to track, rather than parts that work with the Exo-Suit uniform.
Whats with the weird photo of the cat on the side of the box in the re-boxing photo?
There is a cut-off speech bubble with some cut-off speech and the picture of the cat looks cut-off too. I suspect that this isn't the finished photo they meant to release...?
Man, companies are really defrosting the Holidays so soon.
I'm a sucker for Holiday sets and this has a great selection of minifigs...but $300?? No thanks. Between this and the lackluster Holiday Village set for 2025, I think I'll sit this one out completely.
Edit: $330????? [dead]
Another addition to the ever-growing subtheme of LEGO sets that are more expensive than the actual thing they are supposed to be.

Its 329$ on lego.com/en-us :)
And we all thought the Death Star was overpriced lol
It'll be the most Expensive Christmas tree anyone has ever owned aswell but it does look nice but for a set you can only display in December its a bit steep for the wallet
I usually roll my eyes when people say stuff like this, but: this should be like a hundred less. It feels like (I haven't looked at any measurements) this is a bit taller than most modulars but not nearly as dense. And 300 for a seasonal decoration feels pretty rough.
My initial take looking at the small thumbnail was “7 minifigs and a tree… they’re going to try to get $50 from us for this.” Lol
I could buy an actual Christmas tree farm for that.

It looks to me like the cat is supposed to be behind a bit of ripped wrapping paper or something and zooming in the speech bubble just has a :o in it
I can see the design team's train of thought here:
- Gee, that's a lot of bricks for just a tree!
- You're right, let's add Santa's Sleigh, no not the one we already have, another one but less pretty!
- Gee, now it's even more bricks!
- You're right, let's add a castle and space minifigure so that we still have buyers!
- Gee, how much did you say this was going to cost?
Oh, for...at $300, I'll go for the much more reasonable 40573 (which retires this year, so now's the time to get it).
I am glad this comes apart easily to store for future years. My Statue of Liberty set 21042 is a pita to try and keep it mostly assembled to put in the box.

Oh dear; thanks for letting me know.
I had very little interest in this until I saw the Christmas Knight
Another set where lego is exploiting its spacemen and castle theme
This is fun and creative as well as being a really nice Christmas decor piece. But the trend of Lego being a rich person's toy is getting out of hand.
That Classic Space sweater torso was added to this set just to get the fanboys to buy it.
Before 2025, you could pick up three (3) Winter Village sets for the price of this one Christmas set! And this year's WV (train) set has climbed to $130 - for less than 1,000 pieces and no motor. LEGO keeps giving the alt brands a bigger and bigger opening...
I love holiday sets, especially Christmas. Like everyone else, I can not see $300-330 of value here. I would probably bite at 50% off.
Is everything Death Star, now?
I could build a train around it!
Insane build but sadly also an insane price
@Yellow I've seen a dark blue helmet and air tanks but the bidding was insane € 48,00 for 1 complete fig.
Seller claims it's from a lego store
There is a saying in my native language which would be perfect here: to break off a Chrismas tree, meaning roughly same as living in a cuckoo land. I don't know where Lego is taking their recent prices from but someone in their pricing department is getting more and more disconnected from a reality. I know it is 3000+ pieces, but who needs that expensive and small tree in their house?
Looks excellent, but £270 for a set to display for a couple of weeks per year might be pushing it a bit!
That is insane! $300+ ??? You can keep it. Getting out of hand anymore. Easy pass and I have all of the WV sets and look forward to it every year, but this is too much.

Oh look what else got announced..
Man that looked pretty exciting until I saw the price.
What the heck?!? My wife generally likes the Christmas sets. We have quite a few, and mix and match them for Christmas decorating. But those were mostly $100 or less. I don't think she'll go for $300, even with me trying to sell her on the ugly Classic Space Christmas sweater (I already have two copies of the Exo-Suit).
I glimpsed "Cataclaws" out of the corner of my eye before I actually read that far down and thought for a second that I saw "Ravenclaws." Of course, you could replace its sound brick with the sound brick from 76429 to make that happen...
This has to be some kinda of typo right? I really can't see where the 3000+ parts of this set are, let alone the scale of it being worth £270.
What a year... The train is the cheaper holiday option than the others. I like what's happening here with the minifig side. And separately what's happening with the tree. But together it's just making it too much.
EDIT: I missed the tree interior on first look. Yeah, that's way too much different stuff in one set. Inflated price to be able to do it all in one set.

I think you’re right about the shade of green. If you look at the last picture, the legs of the minifigure on the bottom left are green but much darker than its helmet or tanks.
Are the elves sweating actual money in there? Captain Red Beard is closing in!
I REALLY like this, but that price is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
LOL no.
That snowman plushie's adorable.
This year I will be trying out an alternative brick brand Winter Village set. I see no reason for this to be $330 and the Train to be $30 more than it should be.
Looks great, but that price is just obscene.
It doesn’t even have the Disney/Star Wars “tax”.
Just staggering to look at it and then see that price.
On the Lego website, the number is 41843, not 40843.
set number is 41843
I’m going to have to make/save a canned response for every reveal going forward.
“$X for this? Where are all the Y pieces? And why is it just a slice?”
I like it, it looks like an ineresting and intriguing, difficult build, but I'm not sure I'm prepared to spend £269.99 on it.
Cool new leaf piece, would look great in a Felucia set, maybe in different (transparent) colors?
$300+ for this is insane.. scale it down to fit into the $100 range and it would still be expensive for what it is.
Christmas Lego is usually a guaranteed purchase as soon as it’s released but I think this is a step too far.
I’ll doesn’t feel like 3000+ pieces, and I don’t see £270 value there.
There’s too many elements I’m not keen on. The shape of the tree isn’t right - it’s like it’s missing a section between the top part and the bottom two sections.
I don’t get the cat, nor the elves wearing knight/space outfits.
Sadly, I doubt I’ll be getting this to add to our Christmas. I was dubious when I saw rumours of a $300 tree but was hopeful. Now I’ve seen it, I’m not keen.
Maybe they’ll have it displayed at local LEGO store and it’s impressive enough to buy, but first impressions aren’t good.
Didn't Lego have the Lion Knight's Castle on sale for $300 at one point? This feels insane compared to that.
@Wallace_Brick_Designs ty will wait for 71499 parts to appear on PAB
Missed that one
They're smoking a rock with this one. $330 is astronomical for something like this. I don't need another santa/sleigh/reindeer. I don't need/want an ugly, scary cat thing. The tree doesn't even look that great. :( So the hook is putting in space & castle parts, in hopes people will shell out just so they can get those few special pieces?? Ugh.
I think they greatly missed the mark on this one.
Do we have confirmation of light brick and sound bricks. Can’t spot anything in the images that support that and the Lego listing doesn’t mention them that I can see.
aaaaand "No, it's too expensive" wins the day.
This looks great, but that price is just ridiculous, really think Lego need to take a hard look at their pricing
Well, I initially thought the price was a joke until I saw the back side, but still, by winter village standards this set should be no more than $230. Might be worth a second look after the inevitable 30% discount, I don’t anticipate much demand for it at that price except from completionists. Personally, I can’t really relate to that ideology as companies obviously have duds in their portfolio and certain projects even within the same product line are devoted much more time/effort/attention than others, but I guess the psychological fomo is just too strong.
That brick-built cat thing is… a choice. Am I blanking on some Christmas story or tradition involving a giant cat? Keep the reindeer away from it.

Green, like the colour of money this things costs. :'-)
A full tree? Why isn't it a cross-section? Much easier to see the insides that way...
We have a Christmas decoration we call the "Mouse House." My dad built it 50 some years ago, to a kit or directions he found somewhere. Basically a wood A-frame type structure about the same size of this tree with little vignettes of holiday scenes with "Christmas Mice" as the characters. It's old and kind of broken so it doesn't come out much anymore, but this would be an ideal replacement for that!!! I'd be excited for it, but unfortunately, my cat would have a field day breaking pieces off with that price, I likely will pass. But I still like the idea, and wish I had a better cat proof area to display it during the holidays.
A cat to bring up the piece count? A green space man helmet to stirr fomo? A way too expensive tree no one called for? Best part is the sledge. Should have been a 6.99 $ set for kids.
LEGO continues to show that they have lost the plot….
This looks really nice, but I don't know who's going to be buying this without a discount.

Only if you pay in €100 bills, which most people don't use and most stores don't accept...
Another leaf piece I don't want.
Im passing on this one, but I do like the concept.
it's a huge tree though, maybe the biggest lego tree
This is the 2025 Death Star of Lego sets.
I like it. But, I don't $330 like it. Must wait for a discount. I've already got a wishlist of $200-500 sets I'm interested in plus the upcoming round of awesome BDP sets in a few weeks.

This set is so frustrating to me because I love the figs & accessories, as well as interior details like the arcade & the Batman-style supercomputer. The rest I don't care for at all. I feel the same way about the Death Star; love certain elements but the set as a whole just doesn't work. I find myself wanting to buy parts of sets these days rather than actual full sets.
Also, they have completely officially lost their minds with prices this year. Hope every set from 2025 is forced to go on deep discounts due to poor sales, though I suspect that won't be the case.
"Only the best is good enough"
Seems like Lego have lost their way. These are the first Christmas sets that are going to be an easy pass for me.
Interesting - where are the light and sound bricks located? Nothing on the LEGO.com page indicate those.
Love the Classic Space Christmas sweater! But unfortunately not to the tune of $300...
I think at this price point they won't sell too many of them. Of course I'll buy one but they have me sucked in pretty good. Save yourselves before it's too late.
I like the idea of a Lego christmas tree, but this one has a bit of weird shape. It seems to be missing a section. If it were a real tree, this would end up as being one of unsold ones...
Santa's visit and the sleigh with four reindeer will again sit underneath a real tree this year.
$330. Did I read that right?? While this set is quite appealing, I find it hard to imagine myself ever being in a position where spending this much on an item like this makes any sense.
$330!
Only the best is good enough.
I'd rather use a new motto these days:
The best is if we're only good enough.
Oh this looks pretty ni- HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?!
For this kind of money, couldn't they at least have made the tree look good? At first glance it looked rather bulky, and that was before I realized the scale of the thing. This big leaf pieces also help a lot to make it look small in pictures. But still.....how is this even 3171 pieces? I would have guessed half of that, tops. I feel like this is just testing how far they can go?
Oh, and whatever that Cataclaws is supposed to be, it looks terrible....
I don't get the appeal of Cataclaws either. But I am severely allergic to cats so they have never been something that I wish to own.
@SillyTwig said:
"green spaceman helmet & airtank, green spaceman helmet & airtank!!!"
they already come in green...
Kinda ironic to showcase this on a table next to a real Christmas tree that costs a fraction of it's price. This year is gotta be the year with the most overpriced "UCS" type sets and it's only gonna get worse thanks to corporate greed.
Gotta quote South Park's latest episode here because it matches our situation perfectly:
"•TLG•: Yeah, you gotta pay tariff. You think I pay tariff? No, no, no, no. YOU pay tariff.
•LEGO Fan•: Well, okay, I’ll take one.
•AFOL's•: You are taking advantage of these children! You make them pay too much for the •LEGO's•!
•TLG•: Shut up, •AFOL's•! Somebody has to pay tariff! [...] In China, we call that hot potato." :))

Neither sentiment is quite right. We have the pieces in medium green already, so the first commenter seems to have missed that and misread this as the arrival of pieces we already have, but these parts in this set appear to be *Bright* Green, which is actually something new and noteworthy.
That cat is ugly. And the carrot printed on the squishmellow looks weird.

With TLG's recent prices, my backlog is becoming less of an issue. I may soon be getting priced out of this hobby, but at least I've got plenty left to build.

I think you're right. I checked which shade of green the (industrious) elves' hats are, and is indeed Bright Green.
On topic: I like the tree, I like that it's not just a tree to look at, but that it provides some play, too. Could be a nice experience when building it together.
I have to admit that I liked it a bit less when I saw the price.
300 bucks can get you or your kids respectively a whole of stuff for Christmas. I'm growing kind of tired seeing complaints about the prices of sets, and also tired of having to complain about it.
Yes, LEGO always was a luxury item, and you realise it when you have to pay for it with your own money. Which makes me think of a potential feature when browsing sets on Brickset; a filter that lets you set a price range. Whether you're looking for a gift for someone, or when you're curious how many >$300 were released during a specific period.
For everybody wondering about Cataclaws, I'll let LEGO do the talking:
https://www.lego.com/en-gb/holiday-gifts/cataclaws
Edit: There has been a promotional set last year, 6532688.
my first thought was that the price was a mistake, then i looked at the piececount and thought maybe not, maybe its bigger/more impressive in real life
at least LAN members will be able to show this off during the holidays

The thing in the video looks like a cat. That promotional set, somewhat resembles a cat. The version in this set though......I'll have another look after a few drinks, maybe I'll see it then.
To me it doesn't look that pretty.
And the price? I had to do a double take, then checked the piece count, then looked at the images again. Doesn't look like that many pieces to me, and not very impressive overall.

I can see this for $330 much easier than I can see the Black Pearl for $380. This is just very large for what it is, the Black Pearl is legitimately a $250 set masquerading as a $380 set.
Interesting set, but I won't be buying it. This is not because I dislike the set or think it's overpriced, but because my mother is already counting down the days until this goes on sale for Insiders (I spend Christmas with her every year, so I'll get to enjoy it then).
I also love that adorable little (giant) cat included - I know its supposed to be that Catclaws mascot, but to me it just looks like a miniature version of 21349. Which was one of my favorite sets of last year, so I'll consider that a big plus here.
@CapnRex101 The post says that the set will include light and sound bricks - do you have any more info about that? I don't see anything relating to that on the box or on LEGO.com.

I can see the shape of the body working, the "face" however... not from a distance, not when squinting one eye - or both - and definitely not from close.
Why does it remind me of a villager? 21165
300 bucks the Xmas tree?! Damned is Lumibricks doing Xmas sets?
I thought to myself: this is quite nice, it has green helmet and airtank, a new shield faction (not quite sure if it is usable for warfare though) it has a doc ock elf, mama Christmas, a deer, all sorts of goodies and then I started reading the comments and most of them are about the price. I was thinking this would probably be a very expensive set at CDN$200. At USD$300 which is probably around CDN$390 i think with a high degree of certainty that this set won't be present in my home come next Christmas. Well done though...
This set looks really cool, love how it's something different for Christmas this year but like what so many are saying....the price, goodness. Won't be buying this, way too much.

I wasn't sure what you were talking about until I realized that you're in the Netherlands. Stores must have different policies there.
A shield with a new print in a Christmas set! Unexpected.
For LEGO these days, $300 is the new $100.
Contrary to a recent set launch, once you add the removable panels, this is not just a slice of a tree and have the approximate shape of a pine/fir/spruce tree - with some stylistic liberties taken ;-)
p.s. I don't mind the previous slice-model at all. Probably will never get it anyway.
I really don't want to want this. However, when I eventually read Bricksets' review I'm sure it'll push me over the edge. Thanks Huw and Cap'n, lol.
This is a cute set but $330 is absurd
I didn't choose "No, it's too expensive" because I think it's overpriced for what it includes (though I suspect it contains enough stickers to give many people fits). I chose that reaction because I would have much prefered something smaller. Maybe one or two hidden scenes, no sleigh, and certainly no Cataclaws.
If I were looking for my first Lego Christmas set, this might have fit the bill. As it is, I'm going to be very happy with my Gingerbread AT-AT instead.
I've been looking closer, and there are some nice pieces in the set inventory. The leaves are cool, and I really like the recolored globe helmets in translucent orange and red. If somebody gifted this set to me, I'd probably get a lot of fun and cheer from it, but I don't have the frugality-bereft benefactors in my life to make that unjustified purchase on my behalf, so I probably won't get this set (but might BrickLink some globe parts from it).
Interesting to see Cupid's face print on an elf. I know we've had some lamentable Minifigures using non-exclusive prints, but I haven't been aware of any Minifigures-original prints making it into sets that weren't LEGO Store accessory packs reissuing CMFs, or BAM-station parts. Has this happened before? (PurpleDave? Anybody?) Or am I wrong and this face existed before Cupid somehow?
