Solider in a Chess set and a Tic-Tac-Toe set? This guy got around!
Skulkin before Skulkin.
Awesome Castle era.
The Armour printing on Castle minifigures from that Era were awesome.
Who Would Win? Skeleton Warrior 4 vs. Uruk-hai Berserker
I kitbashed this guy's armor, some black legs with a futuristic print, combined it with a silver head, and added a Bonc head (BIO004: Bionicle Mini - Piraka Reidak) on top of that for a freaky character addition to my Mos Eisley moc.

That depends. Does the skeleton warrior have the ability to reattach severed parts, as animate skeletons are sometimes depicted doing? If it does, that might give it an edge.

What's it hurt you if he does? He's just complimenting the figure, he's not slinging insults or slurs. Just block him if it bothers you that much.
And I got the box of skeletons. Would that be a communal coffin?

On the contrary, for many of us, commenting on every RXotD is a tradition to be upheld. Though the ironic thing is, he's said the exact same thing to me at least twice, and I believe both times were in RXotD comments (one of those got deleted, but not until after I'd read it).
The chess set that this figure comes in is amazing.

Calm down. I'm not the only one that does this. What's wrong with doing so anyway?

I like it when the young guys come in, and show some dedication to their craft. What's the harm? He's not a troll. He tracks with the vibe.
Sometimes, they say interesting things. At least he outlasted ChimaFan9000..

Yeah, I'll be staying around for some time, too. I wonder what happened to Average Chima Enjoyer.
Fantasy Era Castle was great.
Still inherited a few issues from the 2002-2005 years of Lego but they went really innovative for the Castle reboot (that's what this is btw, not a "sub-theme"). Sure it's picking on very common fantasy tropes, but we never had those in Lego form before!
Wish the Pirates reboot went a bit more creative rather than re-imagining old sets (which usually fails if they rely that heavily on big raised baseplates).
Also would have been cool if that teased Elves sub-theme would have actually been made.
Fantasy Era even had a few bits of lore and named characters, as well as being part in the Clutch Powers movie (where most of the names seemingly are from):
-King Brutus (ruler of the "Crown" Knights)
-Mallock the Malign (the evil wizard commanding the Skeleton Warriors)
-Captain Urkt (a high ranking commander of the Trolls, rather intelligent and inventive for a Troll, too!)
-Grimhelma (who kind of this is, though I'm a bit hesitant to accept Heroes Unboxed stuff as canon; actually a female, she seems to be somewhat caring about her fellow Skeletons)

Changed his name to Wolfpack-Something, to sync with the name of his YouTube channel I believe.
Anyway, since Lego have been doing actual DnD stuff lately, this would make a pretty good Death Knight, give all the normal skellies a proper general
On the one hand - this print is kind of dumb. Your ribcage isn't that sturdy, which might be the reason why you armoured up in the first place. Why would you then bring attention to your own insecurity about your own skeletal insecurity? "Hey guys! Hit me in the chest, which is my weak point!"? It's dumb, this is a dumb minifigure.
On the other hand, it's pretty damned metal and I love it. If the entire reason for this printing is "vibes", I'm here for it. It's awesome, this is an awesome minifigure.

Maybe he got shadowbanned. It's fine, I hear it happens to the absolute best of us.
I got it in 7009 (2007), but my proper return as AFOL happened much later, in 2020.

I believe that was when talking about replies, not direct comments, if my memory serves me right.

I got that shadowbanned for a month or two. It was freeing. @Crux.
When the preliminary images of the set 7009 came out featuring this minifigure atop his blackened skeleton horse, Lego fandom nearly lost their collective minds. I was on Classic Castle mostly then, and those boards were just about the most excited Castle mafia I had ever seen for this new creativity in the theme.
In a random coincidence there was someone on a local facebook group asking if this helmet was ever done in a shiny gold. It hasn't been, so was probably from a knock off Thanos.
It did make me go look at what colours it has been made in and I realised I have all of them except the Copper speckle one.

To be fair that -is- rad as hell. Probably only beaten by the same guy riding a freaking dragon in 7094

You’ll always have the heart of a ridge to me.
@Maxbricks14:
Possibly. But you’ve made no secret about the fact that you try to be the first post on every article, and I’ve made no secret about the fact that I’m always game to riff on someone else’s post if I didn’t come up with anything interesting to say beforehand. Step in the line of fire frequently enough, and you’re bound to get hit a few times.

Black? No, what really got people freaked out was the photo of the prototype, with a clear skeleton on a clear skeletal horse, and some shade of trans-blue weapon in its hand.
@Miyakan:
Shiny gold? Like chrome? No, definitely not. Pearl-gold, yes. I can’t find where I put it at the moment (or a couple hair elements that I’d planned to use for the same project), but I did pick up one of those from OPAB in the past year.

Got a few of these helmets and armors in a bulk buy. I don't really have a great use for them yet, but they seem like they'd be a good emo faction for a joust.

All of these are from Lego Legacy (whoopee yet another dead Lego live service game.) The latter two weren't in CP, (an unfortunate acronym) and King Revet was deceased in the movie. LL carried over Mallock's name and King Revet was probably renamed Brutus unintentionally, from being uninformed.
Couldn't decide at the time whether I thought these guys (or girls, if Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is to be believed...?) or the all-black standard skeletons from this theme were cooler. This one's armour design was very cool to me, but (s)he also lost a couple of points by being a normal minifigure and not the special skeleton pieces that I'd loved ever since encountering my first one in 5938. But on the other hand, except for the colour (and the new arms?) the black skeletons were still more or less the same skeletons I had like four of already by then, while this one's armour design gave something new to the concept.
...in the end I didn't get any of the Fantasy Era sets, since I couldn't pick which of the small sets I liked better and also since 2007 was the start of my gradual slide down into dark ages, so what young!me thought of them really doesn't affect anything. But I did like the skeleton army concept a whole lot; and if I'd known at the time that 852272 existed I feel like might well have gone for that one as a way to try out both of those styles of skeleton at once...!
Fantasy era was the height of my imagination when I was young. Valiant knights vs undead skeletons, and then add in dragons? Then came the orks & dwarves. Man what a packed series it was. This guy here was a childhood friend

Yeah. Pearl-gold. It’s been in 12 sets, most frequently as part of one of four Thanos minifigs, but also loose in one Ninjago set, again in one Dreamzzz set, and as part of a GotG snow-Grimace. But the question is what would the person describe as “shiny”? Technically all of their hard injection molded parts are shiny, while rubber and polyethylene parts have a dull finish, but to me shiny means chromed.
Man this was such a cool figure. Too bad about the availability of castle sets today.
It's interesting how the print on the armor looks like a ribcage. I wasn't into LEGO at the era these came out so never paid much attention I guess. Even though I am a huge castle nut and have bought a few crownies over the years.

Haven't found a way to watch that movie yet, so yeah, thanks for clarifying that.
"Urkt" is from a story found on Lego.com around late 2008. It might be still available on Wayback Machine.
Love this era of Castle and such a great looking figure!
Pre-dates my exit from a long dark age but found one of these in a batch of Lego we were gifted by someone having a clear out. Not a particular Castle fan but it’s a nice fig so will no doubt find a good use for it at some point.

Yeah, the one they were asking about was 'chromed' but it didn't look like a great chrome either. Was definitely a knock off.

Maybe, or it could be aftermarket chromed. Was a time when Dan (the founder of Bricklink) let people list custom-chromed elements for sale, before the site got bought by TLG and they delisted all the custom/3rd Party elements that Dan had integrated into the site because “that’s not what Dan would have wanted”. I got a lot of chrome parts from one store that were fantastic (if only their ability to restock sold out parts was comparable), and a handful from another store that have awkwardly located “bald” patches in the chrome, or bubbles and other imperfections where the chrome layer does exist. It just depends on how meticulously the parts were prepared.
Doesn't look a THING like any character from "Skeleton Warriors"...:)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton_Warriors
He comes in four sets, and I have four copies of the fig--but I only have one of the sets: four copies of 7009, which I remember fondly as one of the best army-building Castle sets ever. The only thing I can say against it is they gave it the "wrong" barding (I think the gold-accented barding it comes with should have been the King's, and the knights should have the silver-accented one), and that it comes with no plume for the knight--but these are minor nitpicks indeed.

The ironic thing is, the ribcage deco on the armor does not at all match the ribcage on an actual minifig skeleton, which has no floating ribs. The armor shows one such pair at the bottom.
