Random set of the day: Slithraa
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 9573 Slithraa, released during 2012. It's one of 48 Ninjago sets produced that year. It contains 20 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$9.99/£7.49.
It's owned by 1,365 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $48.50, or eBay.

Think it would be possible to mount a Minion on one of these Ninjago spinners?
Seems like RMotD hijacked RSotD for today!

Are they similar to the old Sports stands? Looks somewhat like it from the photo...
EDIT:
Never got the point of those cards, except inviting countless bootleg companies to include them in their "minifigures". Are the rules still outthere?

They have twin pockets that minifig legs fit down inside, with a thin wall between the two legs. I don't think they had studs at the bottom, as the point was to knock the other minifig off its spinner. So I think the Minion feet might fit down inside the pockets, but they aren't as close together as minifig legs, and they have a shorter "inseam", and they're not going to fill out the shape of the pockets, so it should be possible to perch one on a spinner. I just don't know if you could add a pair of 1x1 plates to give it some grip. Otherwise, the poor guy will go tumbling as soon as you try to get the spinner going.
I was a bit surprised that it goes for that much. My first thought was that the trans-dark blue snake, but that isn't all that expensive on its own, so maybe not.

I was thinking the instructions came in the set, but the Bricklink inventory doesn't list them, so who knows? I don't feel like trying to find them.
Those spinner packs were so cool. Nowadays they can be quite lame.

Tested it in LDD (might not say much but duh...) I'd say you can't fit "support studs in there, not even round 1x1s. It might work though pretty well with mini-dolls for some reason.
Anyways, this reminds me of my first impression of Ninjago back in late 2010:
"Aren't you a bit late for a Beyblade knock-off/cash-in?"

Beyblades were quite the thing amongst the local boys from 2012-18, with ebbs and flows of popularity.
I have the NRG Cole, Kai & Zane from that year but for some reason didn't get Jay.
And of course the price of it just randomly shot through the roof since then, typical...

The aim of the game was to knock the other player's minifigure off of their spinner. The cards could be played to give the player specific advantages — a lot of them prompted the player to build onto the spinner to e.g. create a wall that would protect the minifigure from attacks or add bricks to the underside of the spinner and increase its height. In essence they were trying to prompt creativity and traditional LEGO building even in the very specialized game context.

Mini-dolls use a T-shaped panel of similar thickness to lock their feet in when seated, because they don’t have anti-studs on the back of their legs like Minifigs do. So, yeah, they’d be a bit tipsy, but the feet should grip pretty well.
One of the better spinners. The fig is only available in one large set otherwise, the spinner is of the transparant kind, and the ring is of the nicer variety. It even works best as a spinner in the story if you use this as Scales doing Fang-kwon-do (yes, really) when he had this form.
